WTW116: Did You Know That 7 out of 4 Kids Will Be Trafficked Right Now Yesterday?
We get to delve deeper into the right wing fear porn, moral panic that is human trafficking and child trafficking. If you're worried about this being too heavy, don't be, because Matt Murphy's claims are so absurd it becomes funny.

0:00:03 Clip: What's so scary about the woke mob, how often you just don't see them coming.
0:00:11 Clip: Anywhere you see diversity, equity, and inclusion, you see Marxism and you see woke principles being pushed.
0:00:19 Clip: Wokeness is a virus more dangerous than any pandemic hands down. The woke monster is here and it's coming for everything, everything, and everything. Instead of go-go boots, the seductress green M &M will now wear sneakers.
0:00:41 Thomas: Hello and welcome to Where There's Woke. I'm Thomas. That over there is Lydia. How you doing?
0:00:44 Lydia: Hello doing pretty well despite the stuff we're talking about yeah
0:00:47 Thomas: Staying safe out there? Quick, someone behind you. You almost got trafficked. Once every three seconds, every child in the world gets trafficked?
0:00:56 Lydia: Every child yes yeah we just tally up how many times we've all been trafficked and
0:01:03 Thomas: Don't, you know, we talk about our kids. They're not our kids we trafficked we did what we did is we found a Facebook group where parents traffic each other's kids kids to each other. And it's, yeah.
0:01:13 Lydia: It's it's a kid exchange change oh
0:01:15 Thomas: And you draft, you know, you do like first pick, you know, we got, we want to comment exactly on how the draft order went, but you know we got good picks and bad, I'll just say. Oh man, no, we're going to, this is so much fun. We're going delve more into Matt Murphy's amazing world of child trafficking. Like it's funny to be laughing at that kind of thing, but again, like some of the claims, this this is the difficulty. I think people who are listening are along for the ride, hopefully, but obviously this is a mix between very serious, horrifying, the worst stuff you've ever heard of and claims about the world that are so fucking insane. You can't help but laugh, you know?
0:01:53 Thomas: And ride. Like this is important because this Wingers this think is real. Like they think this stuff is real and, you know, 7 % of it is real or something, you know? Like some amount of it as real and that's what makes it so insidious. So I'm excited to go more into it. We get some facts and figures, you Get, Matt Murphy is going to drop some knowledge on us. And fortunately, I'm
0:01:52 Lydia: Yeah oh can't wait to hear from an expert yeah
0:02:18 Thomas: An expert in typing letters into a browser, and that makes me a better researcher and expert than this Green Beret or whatever. So I can't wait. Why don't we take our first break, and then we will delve into it. Support the show at patreon.com/wherethereswoke. Fund directly our trafficking of children, please. We need your help.
0:02:34 Lydia: I don't think you're getting like good at these pitches I think they're getting worse over for time
0:02:45 Thomas: Well, but they're... hold on, they're anti-trafficking, so I'm pro -traffic, right? I'm pro -traficking? If I'm... Oh, I'm sorry, are you on MAGA's side? Listen to this Trump voter over here. No, we're on the pro-trafficking side.
0:02:53 Lydia: My god there's yeah right there's
0:02:59 Thomas: patreon.com. Okay. Uh start to get some claims about what's going on probably
0:03:09 Clip: But it's getting close enough to home now that we need to be aware. Right? Yes. So let's talk about that a bit. No, absolutely. They always say everyone's aware. And that's what parents don't realize. You know, I think where this changed in human trafficking is in prostitution or some of the oldest crimes in the book, right, then the women and men who trafficked all over this world for labor for sex, for all kinds of different reasons, right? You know, indentured servitude. The world's a crazy place, right. These things have always happened. But there's always, unfortunately, been an appetite sexually for people who go after children, right, so, you know, a lot of people, like you talked about, saw Sound of Freedom, and they see a fictional story in Sound of freedom that talks about, it's loosely based on real life, but 90 % of that movie is not accurate, it didn't happen, right and it's It's a Hollywood fictionalized story about a true issue. But people see that movie, and this is the dangerous part. This is what I really want to address. I'm really glad you brought this up. People see that and they're like, oh, that's just kids in some underserved, third -world country that are being trafficked and victimized, right? And that movie wakes people up to all this is horrible, but it doesn't wake people up what's happening right here in the United States. And so there's two different levels of this crime that parents need to understand. And this is crucial. The first level that I'll talk about is the trafficking piece, right?
0:04:01 Lydia: There you go ridiculous
0:04:39 Clip: You believe a lie. Most people believe a liar. I believe a lying. But there's this white man that's going to pull up, right, or this person that's just going to snatch my kid, right. That is the exception, not the norm, right。 Traffickers don't do that. That's bad for business, right.? Because if you're operating a trafficking ring and you're trying to make money off of people, Why aren't you going to go snatch a little Susie off the street in Brentwood, Tennessee? It's not a reality. Now, could there be some creep or some criminal or serial killer or somebody like that that could do it? Of course, right? That stuff has never gone away. That's always happening. But there's not human trafficking in snatching our children out of the yard in nice neighborhoods and families. Where are they going after here in America to underserve families? You know the the poor areas of the trafficking specifically right the kids who get addicted to drugs and that can happen the kids you don't have parents or strong fathers one of the biggest things we find for child exploitation pedophilia and kids being victimized is when they don't have a strong father now publicly a lot of people don't want to hear that but a strong father
0:05:49 Clip: And many portaphiles I can show the interviews like your dad loved you your dad look like you can kick your ass I am not touching that child right and so with the parents that you know protect their kids and raise their kids right on the trafficking side you know that's a very rare thing these kids are being tracked out of the child protection services they're being trafficked out of a foster care system all of our government institutions that protect children and taking care of them they're overwhelmed they're understaffed they're they're emerging at the seams just like all law enforcement for most part of this country is and
0:05:49 Thomas: There's the there's the sound effect maybe should found government
0:06:22 Clip: They're the the biggest suppliers of children in America to be trafficked. And underprivileged, unknown, then you have the runaways, right? Runaways are a whole other problem. So that's the trafficking side of America. Now we can't forget, and I'm going to get political, but this is just a reality. No matter what side of the aisle you're on, the border is wide open. Millions of people are coming across it.
0:06:22 Thomas: Better yeah
0:06:44 Clip: And we know the Department of Homeland Security can account for over 85 ,000 kids.
0:06:44 Thomas: Border wide open. Millions of people. What?
0:06:49 Clip: 85 ,00 children cannot be accounted for in this country right now. You know, they guarantee you good things are happening to them.
0:06:55 Lydia: Being separated from their families and being yeah
0:06:58 Thomas: Yeah. So that's That's a claim to look up. Um, I want to check that out. And, uh.... This is a pretty, pretty, fact check. So that was 80 -something thousand kids. Three, yeah. So this also was a claim that J .D. Vance made a little later on where he said 320 ,000 children that the Department of Homeland Security has effectively lost. Claim is made with different numbers. You know, sometimes it's and maybe maybe there's some inflation there. But this fact, according to an AP fact check, misrepresents information in an August report published by the Department of Homeland Security's Office of the Inspector General, which faulted Immigration and Customs Enforcement for failing to consistently monitor the location and status of unaccompanied migrant children once they are released from federal government custody. Report noted that more than, and who knows, maybe the 80 ,000 could have been the prior year. I don't, I don't know, but like in this year, uh, so this is as of May, 2024, 291 ,000 unaccompanied migrant children had not as of may, 2024 received a notice to appear in court. Additionally, more than 32 ,000 unaccompanyed migrant children got a notice is to appear, but then failed to show up for immigration court hearings. Figures come from ICE and covered a period from October 2018 to September 2023. that period, there were a total of 448 ,000 unaccompanied children released by ICE to the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Refugee Resettlement. It's not a missing kids problem. Um, of research and evaluation for the the Acacia center for justices unaccompanied children program wrote, this is not a missing kids problem. It's a missing paperwork problem.
0:07:08 Lydia: 2023 yeah
0:08:41 Thomas: So it's like they haven'T gone to court.
0:08:42 Lydia: Usually what it is it's paperwork yeah
0:08:46 Thomas: Yeah. You know, it says experts say there are many reasons why children might not have appeared for hearings or might not have received a notice to appear for hearings in the first place. For example, if they only get a notice to appear when removal proceedings against them have begun, and if ICE hasn't started that removal process, they wouldn't get notice in the First Place. A lack of communication between government agencies could notice is sent to the wrong address. Guardian may be unable to take them to court um of these factors can explain some of the deficiencies and a conclusion that the children are missing could be very very premature uh say the least yeah so I mean that's I not missing but it doesn't sound like it's like a good thing or anything we might might be children missing court dates, uh, or they might not have even been called. The 291 ,000 is literally just, they haven't been called to court yet. Not as of May, 2024 received a notice to appear in court.
0:09:33 Lydia: Well that was also a total over a span of like five years wasn't it
0:09:42 Thomas: Yeah. Yeah. So hard to know when that was and now that's unaccompanied. So I don'T know if that's child separation because unaccompanyed is when they just show up with nobody, I think. Seems to be quite overblown. That seems to me not entirely accurate.
0:09:57 Clip: Is the trafficking piece. It does not affect the neighborhoods and the upper class. I mean, unfortunately, I'd say that most of the people listening to this podcast, trafficking is not going to affect them or their children. It's not that it's happening in an underserved population or the people who are in the government systems, but that's just the reality. Out and those are the kids at risk now here's where most of the people that will listen to this show this is where their kids are at risk this cell phone right here this is the most dangerous device that has ever been put in a person's hand and it's also the greatest thing that's ever been done we
0:10:39 Thomas: Yes, he goes on to talk about it. Yes, certainly some truth to that. The way he starts talking about this just gets really weird.
0:10:41 Lydia: Phone safety yeah but if you have patriot mobile then it's not as dangerous he
0:10:54 Thomas: Definitely bad people on the internet um, the way he talks about it is like there there's uh they've got all they're seeing your children like I guess technically predators are on the Internet seeing what's on the Internet sure um then like okay he's definitely talking about real problems but it's also like mixed in to some stuff that's like sounds a little I don't know here let's see.
0:11:14 Clip: Have the algorithms that are steering hypersexualization and techniques onto children it's making children question their sexuality it's making sure they question their identity. It's opening children up to things on these social media sites and games. It's being rejected and everything that they are not mature enough for and they're not ready for, and we don't know this. I don't want to go on a tangent, but it's still on topic.
0:11:40 Clip: We learned to parent by how we were raised. Right?
0:11:39 Lydia: Says that a lot yep
0:11:43 Thomas: Talks about, you know, like, oh, when we were kids, we could go do stuff and now they don't, you Know, this is kind of typical stuff. Again, some truth to this for sure. Um, don't go outside as much, all that. Um. Giving our kids phones and all that and iPads and all That. And they talk about that. You know, depression again, it's not really human trafficking, but yeah, um, -sexualization. Yep. Definitely. I mean, there's a problem. And Um, the technology companies, uh, not a big fan, not big fan of them. There's definitely ways they are doing really shitty stuff for sure. Um. I don't know about the thing where it's like they're funneling stuff to make them question their sexuality. So that's like, okay. I think that's bordering into Republican conspiracy theory personally, but that's just me.
0:12:24 Lydia: It's a little straight from the mission statement of the non -profit yeah
0:12:29 Thomas: Then this gets a little crazy here
0:12:32 Clip: Just sitting at home on our iPad and our iPhone all day long, and we're watching content and we have no clue what they're talking about or who they're taking to.
0:12:38 Thomas: Takes a dark turn I
0:12:42 Clip: So, and this last thing I'll say on this topic is, there is a manual that is shared online.
0:12:50 Clip: It's, most of the time we've seen it's about 70 something pages long. It's downloaded millions of times. But we know of an open internet. No encryption, no secret dark web stuff. This is on the open torrent sites that we all use to get our music for free on, right? Those are so loud and active. This down in millions of time here in america and it teaches people how to find kids where to find kids how to talk to kids how how to get them to sexually exploit themselves how to get the child to run away how to make the child meet up with you because if a child runs away the cops don't look for them it's not a family right so get the children away and then it walks them through depending on the age of the child you know how to have sex with them what you can And we can't do. You know, when it's only okay to touch, I'm going to get graphic hair because parents don't realize this. This is what these people are sharing with me many, many times in the year. And they don't know this. You know. When you can put your penis in them. At what age.
0:13:31 Thomas: Think that's true
0:13:33 Lydia: What in the world what what
0:13:52 Clip: Like, you know, it's unreal. This is the type of stuff that is happening. We just ignore. The parents just say, ah, what happened to me?
0:13:51 Lydia: 18 yeah
0:14:00 Thomas: I wouldn't really say we're ignoring that I've never heard of a manual for pedophiles I mean maybe such a thing exists I there's a lot of you know again creeps and pedophils on the internet maybe they're writing some fucking stupid gross pedophile shit is it really downloaded millions of times like a guide to I don't I I'll be honest I don't even want to search this I DON'T KNOW LIKE I didn't check this because I don't even want to search stuff LIKE THAT YEAH I DON'T NEED THAT IN MY LIFE BUT LIKE I'M SKEPTICAL OF THAT CLAIM I HE SAYS IN IN AMERICA TOO HE SOMEHOW KNOWS LIKE IT'S MILLIONS OF TIMES IN AMerica which would be hard for him to know. I think, um, Yeah. Literally. I'm not looking that up. I, I several times was like, I want to check that. I am not checking it.
0:14:24 Lydia: Also Yeah. You don't want it associated with your. Yeah, but Yeah yeah to no let's just take
0:14:45 Thomas: I know.
0:14:45 Lydia: Him at his word whatever it's
0:14:46 Thomas: I mean, I'm really going to take I believe that such a thing could exist, but I don't believe that it's being downloaded millions of times in America by people who are using it to a guide.
0:14:47 Lydia: Fine I don't care either way at this point yeah yeah yes that's fine yes for nefarious
0:14:59 Thomas: Yeah, I just don't. There's not that much of that. Knows? Who knows. I don't. That's my that's my feeling. I'm not going to look it up. That'S one time. Normally, I'll look everything up for you folks. Folks. Not looking that up. Unless someone could think of a way to look it up in a way that isn't going to be really weird. I just feel like it's not real, but we'll see. All
0:14:59 Lydia: Purposes yeah I don'T really want want that on my computer.
0:15:18 Thomas: Not doing it. Like this is, it's very alarmist stuff. It's very like trying to get parents maximally afraid. That exist?
0:15:25 Lydia: Donate money. Yep. Yeah.
0:15:27 Thomas: When he says like, we're ignoring that, I nothing I'm doing with that information. Like, first off, I'm not ignoring it. I just don't even think that's real. And I've never heard of it before. Secondly, okay, let's say it's real and you just told me about it. What am I doing with that information?
0:15:41 Lydia: Yeah.
0:15:41 Thomas: How is that informing my parenting? I know there's pedophiles. Always going to be doing my best on that. I don't know what, like, how's this related to human trafficking? Like, trying to making us feel like there's a manual out there. There's so many of them out there that are looking for your kids on the phones and all that. That, yeah, it's just maximal fear. I think it's the emotions, because people, when this of really disgusting, disturbing stuff, mean, it is hard to say, like, oh, no, I don't want to donate money to stop that. They are not going to be as critical when you have activated that response, I do not think.
0:15:57 Lydia: It's a gateway to being trafficked. Yeah, I guess. Hmm. Yeah. No. Yeah? 100 % I
0:16:18 Thomas: Let's get to one more, And again, this, this worldview is so convenient that it's like, and here's why you never hear about anything. Um, got another one of those here. Just going to keep going.
0:16:30 Clip: Part of this problem is the parents themselves. Themselves. And I'm speaking to myself. Because guys, I've got to see the dark side of this, and I just want, because we're never going to be able to rescue all these kids. There are too many children being victimized. Nonfiction is never going to be a way to rescue them in time and before they're hurt. I promise you I'm going to do everything I can to get to them and find them, but we will never be able to rescue our way out of this. The only way we're going to stop this problem is once parents become a lawyer. And once parents wake up and start parenting again. And what happens is Because exploitation, pedophilia, and sexual extortion are so prevalent in society right now, parents don't want to be the parents that allowed that to happen. Right? In their community, they don't let anyone know that they allowed their child to be exploited or extorted and victimized by anyone, right? We can't tell them this. We have to keep it quiet. One and they don't want their child to be known as a child that this happened to so what we're seeing happen is is parents because of society that scarlet letter whatever you want to call it aren't speaking out about it very few people speak out about and sadly these days the only ones that are speaking out and saying that this is a problem are the ones whose kids commit suicide side because now their kids gone and they're trying to do something if you're in nashville seven to nine cases of sexual extortion once or reported every week that's just what's reported
0:18:06 Thomas: So conveniently no one talks about it cause they're too embarrassed. And like, once again, like, I guess when it comes to sexual abuse, like there's definitely, that's true to an extent. Like that's a lot of the reason why, you the church has gotten people get away with it. Coaches get away With it. You know, all this stuff is, you know, people don't speak up, but I just think the worldview that he's painted the world building he's doing is just, it seems so much more sinister than that. It seems like there's just all kinds of pedophiles downloading manuals of how to pedophile and extorting your kids. Then And your response would be like, that's weird. I've never heard of that. Well, they don't want want to talk about it. And it's like, doesn't it seem a little sketchy? I don't know.
0:18:49 Lydia: Yeah. Is strange.
0:18:50 Thomas: This seem not great? I DON'T know. Doesn'T this SEEM like fundraising on fears and and, the way you talk there, like, oh, we're never going to rescue all Are you rescuing any of them? You I feel like, and again, I don't know anything for sure, but I feel like constantly there's these states made that conveniently don't claim that he's rescuing anyone, but they sort of imply it by the opposite where they're saying like, look, we can't rescue all of them. Like, that's true. It would imply that you're rescuing a lot of them or some of them but when technically speaking he didn't say that right
0:19:01 Lydia: Yeah yeah. It does feel a little gross to be pulling for money by making people terrified like
0:19:37 Thomas: Yeah I'm too skeptical but if you listen to everything he's saying thinking really all leans toward this world building without ever fully making any claims that they're going and busting people but strongly implying it and on we're going to see just how much the people he's talking to think he's actively like busting in doors and saving kids.
0:20:01 Thomas: Look, Lydia and I can't rescue all these kids. You know, we, there's only so many that we can physically rescue. You um if you want to contribute to our cause patreon .com slash where there's woke there because are a lot of pedophiles that need to need be hunted down and lee and I can only hunt down so many yeah you can't say that we can only hunt you're not very good at this you're not a good liar you have to say something that like implies that there look there are so
0:20:20 Lydia: And we can do some. Can do question mark. No, I'm not. I'm not. Operational
0:20:34 Thomas: Many many more. There are so many more to be hunted down.
0:20:35 Lydia: Efficiency. Are.
0:20:39 Thomas: You know, there's just so many more.
0:20:40 Lydia: It's unending, which is why we need your support more than ever.
0:20:42 Thomas: Our work never ends. That's a good one. Our work here never ends in terms of like how many pedophiles there are, how many need to be haunted down still, you know?
0:20:53 Lydia: Donate today to help us get closer to ending this work.
0:20:56 Thomas: I'll do the creative statements that leave out the thing and you do the pitch for the money. That That's good. We've divided our labor. So I feel like you weren't getting the bit. Continue our video here and
0:21:15 Clip: These days the only ones that are speaking out about it and saying that this is a problem are the ones whose kids commit suicide because now their kids gone yeah and they're trying to do something here in nashville seven to nine cases of sexual extortion new ones are reported every week that's just what's reported golly here in Nashville and that's what's happening in the suburbs I bet probably more not reported than oh many many many more because a lot of times what they do they're not looking for kids whose parents have no money they're looking for kids that have everything to lose and the parents have everything to lose because they know mom and dad will wire $15 ,000, $20 ,000 real quick to make those pictures or the decisions that the kids made being groomed and manipulated by an adult go away. Well, if you recall recently, a soccer coach in Franklin, which is a nice suburb, was accused I think over the last 20 years. He left his phone somewhere and the people at that place picked his phone up and saw all of these kids that he had drugged and raped and this went on for 20 years and he was a franklin soccer coach and then a cheerleading coach came out as well and franklin uh was also doing the same thing so I mean that's right there just how could they not be aware of their
0:22:28 Thomas: Yeah, so that's a huge problem. Yeah, it's not trafficking. This is a huge program. Problem and look I've gone deep some down rabbit holes on this and um no
0:22:30 Lydia: That's also not trafficking. You did like an investigation on the coaches?
0:22:42 Thomas: Not on not on that on it on some different things later and like I guess seems to me that this organization is taking in a lot of money with the strong implication that they're doing like military -esque risk rescuing of kids maybe and I'm sure they're not like directly you know saying that but like it feels like that's the impression and
0:23:04 Lydia: Mean, the imagery on their website and everything, right? Like, yeah, exactly.
0:23:06 Thomas: Tactical teams all this stuff and they do like in fairness we go to their tax stuff and it's like uh we we uh educated some people you know it's Like that's all yeah all their forms say is they have to know it's even awareness was what it it was, right?
0:23:14 Lydia: Training. Right, right, right. Yeah.
0:23:19 Thomas: And so, you by the letter of the law, like, I'm not accusing anyone of doing anything illegal, because I have no evidence of that. The letter of the lot, like I'm just very clear, no evidence, not not accusing anyone of doing anything illegal. But by the spirit of the thing, in terms of this being a grift, how did we get from people are being trafficked all the the time it's it's tactical. I was a, Marine I or whatever he was green beret, blah, blah. And now we're like, yeah, there's a soccer coach. It's like, yeah, there is that that's I'm all for raising awareness of that and like whatever the problem of like sex abuse against kids by
0:23:20 Lydia: Green beret. Yeah.
0:23:57 Thomas: Trusted individuals in the community is a huge problem. Are we green bereting our way out of that problem? Are we flying a helicopter to the soccer coach and then like jumping out of it and like, you know, arresting them or something like that's not it.
0:24:11 Lydia: Yeah. Yeah. No, that's crazy.
0:24:14 Clip: So, pedophilia traditionally was only carried out through the family, right, or by, with, and through the the family. You had to get close to the family and then kids start playing sports and you know all these other things to get outside and then we find out oh it's larry nasser the the doctor for the gymnast is you know uh molesting and raping these girls or you know it's the coach or the preacher the sunday school teacher because these people had access to our children and it's horrible it's atrocious and in the fact that this isn't recognized sooner it can just go to show you this guy got away with that in franklin tennessee for 20 years how many how many of those girls probably might have even said something and somebody Would say oh, I know and that can be
0:24:22 Thomas: I'm trying Yeah.
0:24:57 Clip: The case the victim shaming and all that is very real you
0:25:00 Thomas: Boy, it's almost like we need a Me Too type movement how in a bizarro world where you've come in with your your advertising on you republican maga charlie kirk america fest about the you militaristic let's help the traffickers of kids and then what you're coming to is actually just me too talking points yeah
0:25:05 Lydia: Crazy that you won't uphold actually in life right
0:25:26 Thomas: That you don't listen to for anyone where you think they might be conservative at all, then you don't listen to it. It's like, what are we, what are we doing here?
0:25:30 Lydia: Even think it's also really interesting that, like I don't see these groups being like, really vocal with regard to the Epstein files, which demonstrates potentially, yeah, coordinated trafficking, you abuse and stuff, because it might implicate someone that they They really like Donald Trump.
0:25:43 Thomas: Hey, fly a helicopter there. Yeah, and it's interesting because a they, lot of them do find a way to kind of talk about the Epstein list. And be fair, a lot of them are pretty mad at Trump over this.
0:26:01 Lydia: Some of them, like Marjorie Taylor Greene.
0:26:03 Thomas: Like, yeah, this organization sure it's weird that that hasn't come up. I mean, I can't remember if Epstein comes up in this or not. It's possible Epstein come up in it. I don't know. I think it's But yeah, it is like you are just coming back around to things that in no way have a military or even police solution.
0:26:20 Thomas: Like honestly, the solution to Larry Nassar isn't the police. I step. But the solution to prevention is not police patrolling gymnastics. It's recognizing on trust and all that. And the thing we need to do is use a lot of the tools we might be equipped with from Me Too or other, I know, psychology, other writings, other other research, actual science about how this happens, which they've all, I'm sure, defunded or don't support, and sticking to the science and not relying on things like authority. See, that's the thing. When you look at the two parties, the Republicans are all about authority. It's just they're more, I mean, it's literally authoritarian, but it's also just their tends to be more about authority, it says God is the big authority, yeah, Trump's the big authority. We want to be the big, bad authority in the world stage. And like too much deference to authority is major problem when It comes to this kind of abuse. That's like literally what they're describing here.
0:27:07 Lydia: Deference. Mm -mm. -hm.
0:27:19 Thomas: And the left, I think, is less about that. And the left is therefore, I Think maybe the better place for this kind of activism. And if you actually believed in this, maybe team up with that. If you want to to actually inform, if they were trying to like, I don't know, inform more people about very practical things about how, how sex abuse happens, what to look for, you and it was actually good information, then like, sure, you know, that's fine.
0:27:45 Clip: People try to keep it covered up not here in frankland tennessee this is the nicest you know sure urban the state of the school county all that that nobody that's it's bad for everybody when that comes out it is and unfortunately we've got to stop doing this because the thing is and this is I'm glad you brought that up he did that for 20 years physically in franklin tennessee now imagine that these children have cell phones and ipads now imagine how many more children are being victimized right here that we don't know about I can tell you right now at any given time in the state of tennessee there's seven to eight seven 7 ,000 to 8,000 people every day uploading and downloading the graphic sexual abuse of a child. Videos
0:28:29 Thomas: So no, that is, that, that's not true. That, mean like, that be more than like what people estimate is for the entire United States.
0:28:40 Lydia: I was going to say, how many people are even in, like, that location? Then what percentage of the population, then, is he saying are participating in this daily?
0:28:51 Thomas: What's and this is the other thing, I try to fact check some stuff, and it's hard because, like, so much of the facts come from, like the kinds of organizations that, you know, don't and I know, I'm not casting aspersions or whatever, but like, once again, the kind of organizations organizations that are kind of motivated to present a big problem. Like, so do do you anything about, okay. M E C national center for missing exploited children.
0:29:13 Lydia: Mm, I don't think so.
0:29:15 Thomas: Like, I think it's fine, but I don't know. Like I don't, they DON'T tell me any of their They get these numbers really. And that I found, you know I haven't looked super hard, but in the reports, it just gives me numbers. It doesn't tell me like what it really, really, I I guess they have a tip line. So it's like cyber tip line reports, you. And so there are all these reports and they're cyber tip line. I, Don't have access to them. I don't have any reason to believe they'd be like making them up, but I also don't Have any reason To know what percent of those are actually legitimate. What percent of Those are duplicative.
0:29:48 Lydia: And instances in which there's, like, this just of paranoia that erupts on social media, too, like the whole Wayfair, you know, the furniture company, and that kids were being trafficked through deliveries there.
0:29:59 Thomas: I bet there were a lot of reports to a cyber tip line during that probably
0:30:03 Lydia: Exactly. And so it's we know that this is an area that is so emotional, understandably so for people. And do we really drill down to see what is the true impact of this? And then how do we tackle it in an evidence -based way? And I don't know that we know that because of organizations like this that stand to profit, you potentially from the problem maybe being portrayed bigger than it is. I don'T know. I
0:30:32 Thomas: Totally and and I'm seeing in this you pdf from this organization that's actually make it part of their thing to complain like it says It says, in 2023, 3 .8 % of CyberTipline reports submitted by the tech industry contained such little information that it was not possible for NCMEC to determine where the offense occurred or the appropriate law enforcement agency. And then it says, among companies that made at least 100 reports in 2023. More than 80 % of the reports submitted to NCMIC were reported by the companies listed below, lacked adequate information to determine a location. Don't, like, I don' t, I don't know what this is. I don't know. What is this information?
0:31:07 Lydia: Yeah.
0:31:07 Thomas: Know. I But the this was to say, when I'm trying to like look for numbers, it'S it's not super easy to know what's going to be actual good numbers and know what's just parroted talking points, especially when you see what they've done with the human trafficking ones, which are wildly overblown. He said seven to 8 ,000 people a day are uploading downloading in Tennessee, child sex abuse material.
0:31:30 Lydia: He mean like, like, it's seven to 8000 files are being downloaded? Like, like maybe I know, I know but I'm trying to like make sense of the the number that he's giving and say like, okay, maybe the number is accurate, but the noun is inaccurate and maybe I don't know or it's just all inaccurate I don' know yeah
0:31:37 Thomas: He said people, but I don't know. Yeah. I don'T know. I mean, it'S just not, yeah, it's, it's doubtful. Like that would be more than the number. Like even with this source, I think the estimate is like, for one, it says 90 % of reports involving CSAM upload were from users outside the U S um, like that already takes a lot of it. Yeah.
0:32:11 Lydia: Then extrapolate that out and if there's seven to eight thousand people within this one particular area within this one particularly state within this particular country yeah yeah
0:32:21 Thomas: And so Tennessee in terms of this, again, the cyber tip, I, again I don't know how reliable it is, but it's one of the few things I can find. The cyber tip thing is like thousands or tens of thousands per year in in Tennessee. So there's no way it is seven to 8 ,000 per day. That's just silly. Um, you know, it sounds scary.
0:32:38 Lydia: I think also the other piece of that too is if you are able to so easily identify how many people are doing this in a a particular day in a particular county then why aren't they being arrested you know in
0:32:49 Thomas: In a county. Yeah, yeah. I mean this, to be fair, he said the state, I think that, yeah, but still, well, actually there were, I think there were. So, there were some that was like seven seven to reports of sextortion in the County. I think was the one that was the County That one might be true. I can't, again, it's so hyper -specific. I don't know where he's getting that per se. Maybe he, I mean, if they're interfacing with law enforcement, I'll go ahead and say it's entirely possible he's got some numbers from them.
0:32:52 Lydia: The state oh I thought he said it in franklin specifically but oh I see okay yeah yeah but again like if say it's the state then seven to eight thousand people are downloading right
0:33:21 Thomas: it'S definitely not that. That one's false.
0:33:22 Lydia: No no I know and and so I just want to indicate again another reason we know that that's not accurate is if they're aware of the number per day within the particular state like that's that's a a lot of people those people would be arrested like if you can see the number of people I'm sure I'm sur you can drill down if you know they're within the state you can kind of keep figuring it out and at least arrest a thousand people from the seven to eight thousand so it's just it's nonsense yeah
0:33:51 Thomas: And the sextortion thing, definitely a thing, certainly a problem. don'T know what they're doing about it. I mean, with a military approach, it just sounds like another Internet safety thing. It sounds like something we need more regulation on. We need more like we probably do need more resources in stopping abuse online. Line. But I also I mean, again, I say it and I'm joking less every day. I think the Internet is bad and we should get rid of most of it. And I would be heavily in support of legislation or something to try to curb this. And that gets problematic. And often it'll like also get rid of like sex workers and a bunch of stuff like it's it's usually very, very badly done. But the point is, I don't think I need to donate to a paramilitary military organization to fix that problem
0:34:14 Lydia: Sometimes I that get labeled as sextortion I mean I don't want to say oftentimes maybe sometimes that is happening between like two underage kids right mean it's not necessarily that it's an adult extorting somebody for images I'm either way it's bad but I think again it's this idea that you're gonna send the military to go and like go after this 16 year old you teenage kid who was like if you you know don't do this I'm going to share your needs with my friends.
0:34:49 Thomas: I mean, either way yeah it's like yeah like there's these bad yeah In another thing, there are some really really like disturbing examples that this other guy that I might get to brings up and I don't doubt that some them are real but it's also like it just strikes me as like, there are really awful, gruesome crimes probably every day in this country.
0:35:21 Thomas: It's awful. And you're constantly bombarded with those, I bet it would be bad for your psychology. I bet would be mad for your brain. And psychologically you would, you would perceive that there's all these threats everywhere and there's always whatever's. And it's like, I want us to have a proper idea of it. And I really hope, you know what we also need? Competent people at the FBI. Some there's a really, really bad group that I might talk about online that, that got, I think overblown by some of these people, but it was also real. And like the people behind it were absolutely awful. Some of the worst nihilistic, awful crap.
0:35:52 Lydia: Like you didn't need to overblow it like that they're already bad kind of thing.
0:35:55 Thomas: Well, you kind of, you like it's, it's not that they're overblowing this, like the, the examples that they're talking about are horrible, but they They make it sound like there's thousands upon thousands in an organized ring. When I went to look at the FBI, like and it's like, it pretty much like two guys. And then there's other people participating, but they got like the two organizers and that pretty much killed that group. And then There's like splinter groups, but I don't know. Look, I love to know the accurate numbers. Maybe there's dozens, maybe there's hundreds. I, from reading a a couple indictments, I don't get the feeling that it's like tens of thousands. Like, are there that many, first off, like technically online, absolute evil people online? Maybe there, maybe, I dunno, maybe there are, I
0:36:07 Lydia: Like 10. Oh okay wow yeah yeah yeah mm -hm yeah yeah
0:36:41 Thomas: Dunno.
0:36:41 Lydia: I don't know.
0:36:42 Thomas: I, but it's, like, it, feels like inducing a climate of fear and the thing we actually need, once again, is competent people. This is, this is the thing as anti, like police as I often am. This is what I do want the FBI for, you need know, competent people. And I to this particular indictment that I might get to later. And it's like, well, Kash Patel announces this thing. I'm like, oh, great. I'M SURE KASH PATEL IS REALLY ON THIS.
0:37:04 Thomas: Yeah, it's like I have any specific reason to think that anyone did a bad job, but I also would be worried without all the talent that would leave because they don't like the fascist regime. So once again, to me, it feels like supporting competent people would be a good way to fight this, competent people in the FBI. And maybe a way to have that is to have a Democrat in office and not someone who points podcasters to be in charge of the FBI, yeah.
0:37:04 Lydia: We're in good hands yeah as much as you would like to be.
0:37:33 Thomas: Yeah. Unless you want to put me. No, I'd be terrible at that.
0:37:36 Clip: That we know of on the open internet that are not using security, that are trying to hide their traffic. 7,000 to 8,000 people a day here in Tennessee. And I could drop a pin on their houses.
0:37:45 Thomas: You can. Then what?
0:37:46 Lydia: Oh, then go arrest them.
0:37:47 Thomas: Sorry. Why aren't they? Oh, well, here you ready?
0:37:49 Lydia: Why don't you?
0:37:47 Clip: Law enforcement, so not using safety. Security that are now trying to use their traffic, 7, 000 to 8 000 people a day here and I could a drop of pen on their houses. Wow. Um, law enforcement, so overwhelmed, they generally ignore this, but what we found, these people that are, um, you know, downloading this and sharing these, these files, files
0:38:08 Thomas: Is no chance that's
0:38:06 Lydia: Sorry. You're saying here's the evidence. Here's their location. Here is their identity. They haven't put any security up, you know, with regard to their Internet traffic. So we know 100 percent it's sure it's them and that, you here's know, all the things they downloaded. And law enforcement's going to be like, sorry, too busy. Pretty sure that that were true, something would happen.
0:38:23 Thomas: I mean, there's no way. One thing I actually can. Could be wrong. One thing I get the impression that police are pretty serious about is child sex abuse material. Like a lot of feelings don't get me wrong, but like I don't know. I get the impression that if they have solid information on that they go and they go hard and sometimes they go too hard. We're like a 17 year old is with a 17 year old and they have to be a sex offender now like some to the point where they go that hard like we know those examples. I think they go pretty hard on this. I don't know. It would be surprising if seven to eight thousand a day and he could put pins on their houses in just Tennessee. And the police are like, nah, just we're too busy.
0:39:08 Lydia: Have you seen my calendar? Yeah, I think the other thing too is if that were true, you could actually get that to change by going talk to the state legislature in Tennessee and being like, hey, from all the work that we've done, we've identified some stuff, but we need more resources within these various counties to help go after folks. And he's not doing that he's just talking about it on a podcast oh
0:39:30 Thomas: Yeah, wait,
0:39:31 Clip: But what we found these peoplethatareum, youknow, downloadingthisandsharingthese, thesefilesusually are victimising children too. Um. So this is just a crime set that we've swept under the rug that we have not um gotten behind law enforcement about and here's one of the biggest reasons for it outside of parents hiding it is there's no money in it you know you can fight the war on drugs you can seize assets take cars take all the stuff that they got oh yeah you know their drug money and then law enforcement can sell the cars and put a stuff in auction and it's just this self self-feeding hamster wheel the war on drugs I didn't even think about that Mm -hmm. There's no money in it. So why are they going to scale it? They can fight drugs all day, but you know what? We spend $40 billion a year, $40 million a year to combat the war on drugs here in the United States from the federal level. God knows how much at every state level. And I can buy drugs pretty much every party and in any place or any bar that I've ever gone to. Fentanyl in the past few years has killed more people than the Vietnam War. And Nashville
0:39:39 Thomas: That seems hard to believe the numbers. Okay, let's see. Appearance hiding it.
0:39:52 Lydia: Wow what sorry what a cynical you already said
0:40:38 Clip: Last last year there were almost 800 fentanyl overdose deaths have you ever heard that at publicly no there were over 6 000 responses to fentanyll overdoses and 55 000 hits of narcan given out here in nashville in davidson county has
0:40:52 Thomas: So quick quick check on that some of those numbers are right but the 55 ,000 Narcan I don't how would you know that like I can't find a source for it and not reported when you Narcan someone and that seems like a really high number so I again citation needed I don't know maybe no
0:41:08 Lydia: What
0:41:08 Clip: Of that been on the news nothing right so
0:41:10 Thomas: So how are are you getting it
0:41:11 Clip: Is it shocking to think that you know trafficking child exploitation all that is it shocking to think that it's not on the News the Nashville Police Department just canceled their human human trafficking unit canceled it City Council did that well well it's it's just like and the the public it's just seems to not want to do anything about it and that's what blows my mind the
0:41:25 Lydia: Way
0:41:25 Thomas: I swear no that's also a claim that's not true that don't even know where he got that like googled it there's nothing like it doesn't exist and there are still active investigations you know like there's teams working on I don't I don t even yeah I don't think they have that literal name so I don't know what he's even saying god
0:41:46 Lydia: They're like news to me. Can Also just find it so incredibly cynical. And to be fair, I will go off about police and parking tickets and speeding tickets, right? What they do when they want to make their money. I find it really, really cynical and and horrible that you're going to say, there's no money in going after people who are abusing children. And so police just won't go after people Who are abuser abusing children, and I, I cannot get on that train. Just find that kind And, I feel like it's just another way to try and get, if the police aren't going to going do it then we have to this paramilitary group has to so give us money so we can go do it I
0:42:01 Thomas: Yeah yeah yeah it's just like again a climate of fear that you're building and I think there's certainly truth obviously look we're gonna agree all day on the war on drugs stuff yeah absolutely like that's stupid that we're spending so much on the War on Drugs but and I would agree agree that there might be financial incentives in terms of forfeited assets I don't know about that KNOW I because DON'T KNOW IF THAT'S THE CASE BUT
0:42:52 Lydia: There's like a court cases about stuff like that though too right like that their things get managed I thought
0:42:57 Thomas: PRETTY MUCH GET I I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF THERE'S INCENTIVE THERE BUT ALSO I DON'T EVEN THINK YOU NEED THAT THEY JUST LIKE THE WAR ON DRUGS CRAP THEY'RE JUST DOING WAR ON drugs right they DON'T THINK ANYONE IS A BIG FAN OF CHILDREN ABUSE MATERIAL AND CHILD AND molesters and stuff like that's a thing that typically those law enforcement types are like oh I'm gonna kill him I'm going to do a visual any just exactly this guy is like every single police officer when it comes to this yeah
0:43:21 Lydia: That also exacerbates part of the problem right if you are putting forward uh a public speaking opportunity opportunity and saying the police aren't going to care if your kid is being abused, then you're just increasing the numbers of things that are going to go unreported because you think you're never going to get justice through the police department or something. I that he is contributing to the very problem he says that he, um, so concerned about and, uh, hope he can can reflect on that at some point matt if you're listening I
0:43:53 Thomas: The only thing I can can find find that he's talking about with this again quote uh nashville police department just canceled their human trafficking unit city council did that I The only thing I can find is that mnpd metropolitan nashville police department did it like a restructuring january 17th 2023 so that would have been six months before this interview and uh this is interesting and january being human trafficking prevention month so already like what okay sounds like they're really into human trafficking prevention. Chief John Drake today announced the MNPD plans to join the all-caps Intercept Task Force to human trafficking investigations in Nashville and the Middle Tennessee region. Detective Michaela Moore, an eight -year MN PD veteran who has been assigned to the Investigative Services Bureau for the past four years, is set to join The Task Force on The Intercept Task Force, you ready for this? Funded by the nonprofit Operation Light Shine brings
0:44:23 Lydia: Mm-hmm. Matt
0:44:57 Thomas: Together, yeah, I am baffled by this, brings together under one roof federal law enforcement agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations, along with local and state agencies to investigate reports of human trafficking and child exploitation.
0:44:57 Lydia: That's your group and
0:45:11 Thomas: Yeah, law enforcement will work closely with the United States Attorney's Office and district attorneys to develop prosecutable cases whenever possible. The, quote, the ability of this task Drake said,
0:45:09 Lydia: Paramilitary non-profit organizations yeah
0:45:48 Thomas: Maybe he looked at the fact that like six detectives are kind of leaving, quote unquote, the human trafficking unit. But it's because they're it's Because of the Operation Lightshine, which is the organization he just left in this interview. We're to believe he just Left It Like Then, which Is Weird Because This Is January 2023. So Presumably He Was Still President Then.
0:45:56 Lydia: But it's because of your resources yeah yeah it was still his organization
0:46:15 Thomas: Don't know man this is just weird. It is very weird that he is going to say that City City Council, quote unquote, just canceled the Human Trafficking Unit in July 2023 and not mention that like for Human Traafficking Awareness Month in January 2023, six months prior to this, Operation Lightshine funded a task force that's specifically to look at this. And not only that, I think it's particularly particularly funny in a bullshit way that he's the thing he's been talking about is for one, there's human trafficking, but then he's been emphasizing like Internet sextortion, all that. And that's specifically what those six officers are going to do. They're like moving at this time. I haven't checked like today, but like in January 2023, four of them are going to be assigned to work on sex crimes and two to the Internet crimes against children component that's specifically what he wants and it's by his old group I don't don'T I KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING HERE IT'S FUCKING THIS WHOLE THING'S JUST WEIRD I
0:47:14 Clip: It's it's just like and the the public it just seems to not want to do anything about it and that's what blows my mind the most you know we as a society as parents are supposed to protect our children that is our god -given duty to protect the innocent and the most vulnerable yeah and they are the most victimized exploited and extorted person uh you know um part of our population right now and and and we've just turned a blind eye to it it's
0:47:21 Thomas: I sure don't agree with that let's again world building that nobody's doing anything about this nobody cares and I help but think that's all built toward we are the solution to this problem that no one else is doing is some more uh we can only do so much type talk like I was joking about last time yeah
0:48:01 Clip: Every parent this you know I I thank god I didn't have to experience this as a parent but I had to experience that as a brother you don'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE WHEN YOUR KID GOES MISSED and you don't you don' want to know what that's like no you don''t ever want to have to go through that and and this is exciting we do have to you know step up and start to recognize that because you know I my my instagram blows up all the time every time a child goes missing or something happens generally within this area even nationally now and people are sending it to me matt what can you do matt what you can you do and it's just like you know there's only so much right that we can do I'm not in that state right you know I I need law enforcement contacts any family contacts you know we got to start working this case like immediately there's you know this you know we got to get going and you know it's that's the thing is like it's the the bat signal thing that goes up you know for me and a lot of my my partners anytime somebody goes missing and then and I get inundated with it and I'm like look guys there's only so much of me there's always so much time in the day there's also much time for my partners we do everything we can to help but if we're not not there if we don't have relationships with law enforcement you know the family won't talk to us there's there's not much we can do right
0:49:10 Thomas: Or maybe the police should handle it I don't it's
0:49:12 Lydia: That's what a weird weird thing too like so who's sending you these like missing children things and the family won't talk to you about the I don't know whatever that's
0:49:16 Thomas: don'T yeah why would the family talk to some random guy about it it It's just, this is fucking weird, man. Right, well, that's a good one to go out on, but just more of those statements that I just, I love. I love how Diablo, and I don't know. I still can't tell if he's doing it on purpose or not. It feels on purpose to be like, hey, there's no end to the trafficking that we need to stop. And it's like, but you doing it? I don't know.
0:49:25 Lydia: Thank
0:49:50 Thomas: Next episode, say, even better, even more insane. And I'm going to get that to you folks very soon. Don't worry. Probably right like today as you're hearing this.
0:50:01 Thomas: I'm going for a double release for patrons. Normies, we'll We'll see. We're going to drop into his worldview more, but also it's like Jordan Peterson talking points almost about why girls and boys are doing some of the things girls and the boys are doing it's it is fun fun I can't wait for you to hear it uh hey patreon .com slash where there's woke if you want to hear that right away thanks so much to our supporters thanks for getting the word out everybody share the show with a friend um share it with someone you think might be in danger of being trafficked you know just be like hey that's
0:50:01 Lydia: It's if you're a patron everybody right
0:50:37 Thomas: Exactly that's my that's my trick yeah no I didn't I didn'T think of I didn't think of that But now, now I'm going to wink to you and be like, yeah, that's everybody.
0:50:37 Lydia: So share it with every oh okay yeah cut that edit that out okay exactly Exactly.
0:50:47 Thomas: Many people, like I'm in the quadruple trafficking club. It's sort of like SNL hosting where you're like, ah, I got trafficked five times. Yeah.
0:50:51 Lydia: Do you get a jacket eventually? Hmm.
0:50:54 Thomas: What do you get? I just, a sandwich?
0:50:57 Lydia: Don't. Yeah, that's a great question.
0:50:58 Thomas: We'll see. Right. Thanks so much, Wokies. And see you next time. I'm sorry, are you on MAGA's side? Listen to this Trump voter over here. No, we're on the pro-trafficking side. Be honest I don't even WANT TO SEARCH THIS I
0:51:26 Lydia: My god there's
