0:00:42 Thomas: Hello, and welcome to Where There's Woke. This is America Fest 2. I forget what episode number it is, but I'm Thomas. That over there is Lydia. How you doing?

0:00:49 Lydia: Hiya, doing pretty well, enjoying our date night, covering America Fest.

0:00:52 Thomas: Yeah. Hey, you. Yeah. Oh, we didn't get the wine we were thinking. Hmm.

0:00:58 Lydia: I know, pause.

0:01:00 Thomas: To the listener, it will be but a flash. To us, let's go get wine.

0:01:05 Lydia: Let's do it.

0:01:06 Thomas: So as we were saying exactly zero seconds ago, I'm excited to actually get into the first episode is always hard. Hopefully I edited that first episode to be nice and tight, because I always feel self-conscious about how much throat clearing I tend to do on this stuff.

0:01:20 Lydia: Exposition, right, we wanna show, not tell. Yeah, that's true, we have to tell.

0:01:23 Thomas: It's just hard when I have 15 hours of this in my brain, all ready to go. And then it's like, where do you even begin? But we'll get more into it. Quick note, I think it's funny how in their minds, Charlie Kirk was killed by an Antifa super soldier. I guess like as a people, if you just decide, what if we all just believe a fake thing and no one call each other on it? And they're like, yeah, we do that all the time. Like we do that with Jesus, with trickle down economics, with that.

Well, it's our whole shtick. And they're like, OK, add this to the list. He was apparently killed by an Antifa super soldier because so many times they'll be like, they killed him, we need to go to war with the ones who killed Charlie. You're like I mean, I did a lot on that and I was trying to check if we've gotten anything new. I can't find anything new, although I did see that they had a hearing like yesterday I think it was over like redactions when it came to something or other, and the judge was like

0:01:45 Lydia: Mm-hmm, yeah, yeah they do. Jesus, exactly, yeah.

0:02:11 Lydia: Yeah, mm, oh, for the transcript, right? Yeah, right.

0:02:30 Thomas: Transcript of, yeah, of what, I don't actually know. I saw that, but I didn't know what it was, but I just wanted to make the quick point that the judge did say like, well, the public has great interest in this. So we're going to redact as little as possible. So it's possible we'll know more about Tyler Robinson, but I couldn't find much new.

0:02:48 Thomas: And I wasn't sure, like based on how they talk about it, I wasn't sure if, if did something come out? It seemed like it's pretty much where we left it and where I left it. Sounds like his roommate was trans and that could have been the thing, but it's a little far to say that he was like one of quote unquote us.

0:02:34 Lydia: Mm Mm-hmm, yeah right.

0:03:06 Thomas: He was a conservative as hell Mormon in a Mormon family in a Trump loving family. It's not like he, you know, was estranged for 30 years from them. Like he's a young kid. I guess you could say that the woke mind virus got him if you want to, but it's like, I don't know, man. It's not like he's MAGA. I'm not saying that, but IT'S ALSO, I THINK IT'S It's a bit rough to try to just talk like he's one of the left who killed Charlie Kirk. Like, I don't really think that's accurate, you know, and but they don't care. They don't care about any of those complex thoughts. And that's just another theme I noticed. I don' know how many things I'll play that talk about that, but I want to just mention it.

0:03:45 Lydia: Yeah. The hearing was about how he could appear in court, the clothing that he would need to wear. And the judge has ruled that he does not have to wear jail clothes, but he needs to remain restrained. And the transcript is out, it seems like, it's about 80 pages.

0:03:52 Thomas: Oh,

0:04:02 Lydia: And it was a two -hour long hearing. Was released Monday afternoon with light redactions amounting to about a page or 246 words specific to protecting courthouse security. So that's all that they needed to redact.

0:04:07 Thomas: It is. Oh, OK. Oh, so it didn't really tell us anything.

0:04:16 Lydia: So no, it's very minimal.

0:04:18 Thomas: Yeah, I guess I only saw the news about the ruling. And I figured, like, probably something important if they're doing that hearing over it. But like, that sounds not important. So I don't know.

0:04:29 Lydia: I'm curious how it all transpired, I guess. But yeah, ultimately that we have the ruling and stuff too. So yeah.

0:04:35 Thomas: Well, I will say this. I feel like we would know based on this transcript if the lawyer was like, your honor, my client is trans woman. You know, like they would get the pronouns right, I think. And that isn't in here.

0:04:50 Lydia: Yep. Nope.

0:04:52 Thomas: So I think if that's any part of anyone's conspiracy theories or whatever, that doesn't seem to be there. Anyway, all that is to say, can't wait to get to, I was going to say day two, we're not even close to that.

0:05:03 Lydia: No.

0:05:03 Thomas: Speaker number two, Ben Shapiro, in a little more detail, play some clips and start the first shot, the shots heard around the MAGA world in the Civil War. That doesn't really make sense if it's a Civil War, but you know, shots heard round the world was the start of a Civil War. They're just really loud shots.

0:05:16 Lydia: Shots heard round the country. Yeah. Yeah.

0:05:27 Ad: [Ad break 1 — ad music]

0:05:27 Thomas: All right. Do you want to hear Ben Shapiro trash another MAGA person I said, do you want not

0:05:35 Lydia: I was waiting for Ben Shapiro to be the first voice we heard after the national anthem because, like, the juxtaposition of his little squeaky voice compared to that guy who modulated like the most insane. Yeah. Just a little too much vibrato, my guy.

0:05:43 Thomas: Yeah yeah we've got, let's see, let's start around here

0:05:56 Clip: Means we actually have to be smart in how we assess the information and arguments that we hear. Well, because today the conservative movement is in serious danger. It is in danger, not just from a left that all too frequently excuses everything up to The conservative movement is also in danger from charlatans who claim to speak in the name of principle but actually traffic in conspiracism and dishonesty, who offer nothing but bile and despair, who seek to undermine fundamental principles of conservatism by championing enervation and grievance. These people are frauds and they are grifters and they do not deserve your time. And they are something worse than that. A danger to the only movement capable of stopping the left from wrecking the country wholesale.

So today, I want to discuss five obligations that people who speak to you on matters of importance have to you. I want speak to about our duties. Our first duty is truth. We owe you the truth. Truth. That means we should not mislead you. It means we shouldn't hide the ball. We shouldn't be deliberately obscure about what we're telling you. We have an obligation to clarity and to honesty. This means that we actually have to be clear in the language that we use.

We should not traffic in generality. We should say things like, they shot Charlie, without specifying whom we mean by they. The person who allegedly shot Charlie Kirk and whom all all the evidence points at, all of it is a gay, trans-loving furry.

0:06:15 Thomas: I

0:07:35 Lydia: Why is that funny? These people are crazy.

0:07:37 Thomas: Don't know. Also, I tried to look up the furry thing and I don't see anything that establishes that, just beyond, like, rumor or whatever. Yeah, it's so it's pretty funny to be like, we have an obligation to truth. Anyway, here's a fucking insane claim yeah yeah, well, all the evans points to the guy doing it. Yeah, is that what he said, to him being a gay trans living furry so that's interesting. It's funny to be at an event where the whole point is grievance and conspiracy theories and to be like, here's what we can't do. And so at this point I was like, well, this is interesting. It was kind of not sure where this is going. Seemed like he had something in mind and then it's like it got pretty specific

0:07:43 Lydia: Yeah, but Ben Shapiro says that they have to speak in truth. Yeah?

0:07:53 Lydia: All of the evidence points to this. Yeah. Okay. No, all of the evidence points to him being this thing. Yeah, yeah.

0:08:22 Clip: We must not let fear of other hosts deter us from telling the truth. So, for example, if Candace Owens decides to spend every day since the murder of Charlie So if Candace Owens decides to spend every day since the murder of Charlie Kirk casting aspersions at TPUSA and the people who work here, who worked with Charlie every single day, his best friends, to cast aspersion at Mikey McCoy and Andrew Colvin and Blake Neff and Tyler Boyer and yes at Erika Kirk and to imply or outright claim complicity in a cover-up over Charlie's murder to spew absolutely baseless trash implicating everyone from French intelligence to Mossad to members of TP USA in Charlie's Murder or a cover up in that murder then we as people with a microphone have a moral obligation to call that out by name

0:08:26 Lydia: Wow. Wow, yeah.

0:09:31 Thomas: Yeah, you can see in the audience, it's mixed. It's very mixed. It's interesting because I think this is less about these individual people and more about Israel.

0:09:34 Lydia: Yeah this guy's like raising his eyebrows right now a little bit. Yeah.

0:09:42 Thomas: Otherwise, I don't think these people would care that much if it was just about these personalities.

0:09:47 Lydia: Yeah I mean well Candace Owens has been a conspiracy theorist the entire time like and he hasn't really cared unless Israel's implicated.

0:09:50 Thomas: Yeah. Yep. Exactly. That's what's so funny. So you can hear him using language that's like, oh, you mean call out culture? You need to call out? You mean to virtue signal that you don't like? Everything he's appealing to is stuff that the right hates. It's not gonna work. It's really funny. It goes on.

0:09:59 Lydia: Yeah yeah yeah yeah.

0:10:11 Clip: Erica Kirk and TPUSA never, never should have been put in the position to have to defend themselves against such specious and evil attacks, particularly in a time of mourning.

0:10:29 Clip: And the people who refuse to condemn Candace's truly vicious attacks, and some of them are are speaking here are guilty of cowardice. Yes, cowardice!

0:10:43 Clip: The fact that they have said nothing while Candace has been vomiting all sorts of hideous and conspiratorial nonsense into the public square for years is just as cowardly. Second, because we owe you the truth, we owe owe you the duty to speak out of principle, not personal feeling.

0:10:52 Thomas: Oh, what about you sure?

0:11:03 Clip: It should not matter whether we despise someone or whether we love someone. The question is what they say and what they do, and whether those things are morally decent On a political level, do they foster freedom, justice, and prosperity? Do they treat others as they would wish to be treated? Personal feeling is not a substitute for moral judgment. To take again the Candace Owens situation as an example, friendship with public figures who say or do evil things is not an excuse for silence on the matter. Politics is not the sisterhood of the traveling pants. Politics is about principle, and if you are willing to sacrifice basic truth and simple principle in favor of emotional solidarity, you have betrayed your fundamental duty to

0:11:57 Lydia: Hmm

0:11:58 Thomas: He goes on a little bit about how, oh, we're actually not super close friends, everybody on the right, but, uh, then just to skip ahead a little bit here. Yeah.

0:12:06 Clip: Even if it were true that other public figures were our best friends, our very best friends, that does not relieve us of our duty to speak out of principle and not to cover up evil or shy away from addressing it out of friendship.

0:12:24 Clip: So, no, Tucker Carlson, it is not an excuse to go silent on Candace's targeting of TPUSA.

0:12:35 Clip: The same holds true of Megyn Kelly, a person I consider a friend, characterizing Candace as a young mother and thus shying away from condemning her actions or filming about them. That is a non-starter. Meghan Markle is a young mother. Ilhan Omar is a young mother, that doesn't matter. And when Meghan said this week, quote, my goal and my job here is to try to understand, yes, where Candace is coming from on this, and says she sees no purpose in inserting herself, quote into this on one side, that is a moral and logical absurdity. There is only one moral side side here, Erica Kirk's side. You know, the side of the widow with two children whose husband was shot live on camera in front of all of us. Friendship with the person accusing TPUSA of a cover-up of Charlie's murder is no excuse for cowardice.

0:13:38 Clip: Third, and relatedly, we have a duty to take responsibility for what we say and do.

0:13:44 Thomas: It keeps going, and uh, it gets even classier. Just wait, just

0:13:48 Clip: If we hire awful people, we're responsible for that. I have some experience there, as you might suspect. That means that if we offer a guest for your viewing, we owe it to you to ask the kinds of questions that actually get at the truth. If we agree with a guest, that's fine, but we should own it. So, for example, if you host a Hitler apologist, Nazi-loving, anti-American piece of refuse like Nick Fuentes, you know the Nick Fuente who said that the Vice President of the United States is a quote, fat gay race traitor married to a jeet. The person who said Charlie Kirk was a quote retarded idiot. Idiot. The person who said, and pardon my language here, it's his quote, that he quote took Turning Point USA and fucked it and that's why it's filled with Gripers. If you have that person on your show and you proceed to glaze him, you ought to own it.

0:14:18 Lydia: Yeah that's really mixed.

0:14:52 Lydia: Really bothers me, he's like, "excuse my language," f-word, but he said an r-word before that.

0:14:53 Clip: There is a reason that Charlie Kirk despised Nick Fuentes and indeed even chided Dinesh to Sousa for debating him. He knew that Nick Fuentes is an evil troll, and that building him up is an act of moral imbecility. And that is precisely what Tucker Carlson did. He built Nick Fuente up. And he ought to take responsibility for that, just as he ought to take responsiblity for glazing pornographer and alleged sex trafficker Andrew Tate, or for mainstreaming fake historian and pseudo-Nazi apologist Daryl Cooper as America's best and most honest popular historian. Hosts are indeed responsible for the guests they choose and the questions they ask those guests.

0:14:54 Thomas: Wait, yeah, oh yeah, just wait.

0:15:16 Lydia: Oh.

0:15:36 Thomas: A little bit more here.

0:15:38 Clip: Fourth, because we have a duty to truth, we also have a duty to provide you with evidence of the claims that we make. Emotive accusations, conspiracy theories, and just-casting questions? That's lazy and stupid and misleading. None of them are a substitute for truth. None of them are a substitute for evidence. So, when Candace Owens says, I don't know no, but I know, that is retarded, and we are all more retarded for having heard it.

0:16:04 Lydia: My god, oh my God, wow.

0:16:07 Thomas: Classy, man.

0:16:13 Lydia: Mm.

0:16:15 Clip: When Steve Bannon, for example, accuses his foreign policy opponents of loyalty to a foreign country, he's not actually making an argument based in evidence. Evidence, he's simply maligning people that he disagrees with, which is indeed par for the course from a man who was once a PR flack for Jeffrey Epstein.

0:16:16 Thomas: Yeah. Yeah. Another one here. Yeah.

0:16:38 Thomas: I think it's kind of funny that that's true, but it's also like doing the thing you just said. It's like maligning people that disagree with like this fucking guy who's like, it's kinda true. But anyway, it's kind of interesting to have this be this Charlie Kirk Jesus event. And then you lead off with this. It's also interesting because you can tell that Erica Kirk, I think she wants to be a peacemaker. And also they try to lean into the like, well, Charlie Kirk loved debate. So we're going to have all sides of the right here. And that's kindof where they're going with it. Which is so funny because meanwhile, we have Ben Shapiro, obviously being rhetorically pretty manipulative by being like, oh, it's all about Erica Kirk. So you got to be on her side. Coincidentally, it is my side, but no, don't worry about that. It is also her side, which is funny because she doesn't seem that bent out of shape about it. I don't know. It's weird. There is more on that later.

0:16:45 Lydia: -hmm Yeah. Geez. Yeah, mm. -hm, yeah. Mm.

0:17:38 Thomas: But yeah, this is so fun because what he wants is virtue signaling. What he wants his call-out culture. What he wants is guilt by association. He wants all the things that the right hates and that he hates, but it's the group that he cares about that's possibly getting hate now. So then all of a sudden he cares. All of a suddenly he cares about those things.

0:17:59 Lydia: Yeah, of course. I wish he could take a moment of reflection and be like, huh, I wonder if this is what's happening to a lot of other people in communities, and their experience might mirror my own that I'm feeling at this point in time. But that's probably wishful thinking.

0:18:15 Thomas: Yeah. Oh man. Great quote here.

0:18:19 Clip: Just asking questions is something my five-year-old does, and it's really cute when it comes from But when grown men and women spend their days just asking questions without, you know, seeking answers, they are lying to you. In fact, they're doing something even worse. They are seeding distrust in the world around you, and they are enervating you in the process.

0:18:40 Clip: So, for example, if many speakers, including Tucker Carlson and others, get on stage here at TPUSA and claim, without proper evidence, that Jeffrey Epstein was running a Mossad rape ring being covered up by the Trump administration, they are not actually uncovering a conspiracy or effectuating a solution. They are claiming a special provenance to information they won't let you see, which builds their power and leaves you with none.

0:18:40 Thomas: Oh, this is great. This is fantastic. Check this for a plea for credibility here.

0:19:08 Clip: Human beings, good human beings, like Kash Patel, and Dan Bongino, and Pam Bondi, and yes, the President of the United States, even if they're too cowardly to say President

0:19:14 Lydia: Wow. Wow.

0:19:21 Thomas: Oh, boy. This is funny because it's like, again, when something he cares about, all of a sudden he's got quote after quote that you could use against him at other times.

0:19:30 Clip: And that means you won't trust those good people in the future. You haven't gotten smarter, you've just been manipulated.

0:19:36 Thomas: Like, yeah.

0:19:36 Clip: When forced to demonstrate their evidence, these same people will often refuse to provide They'll pretend they're outside the system. And they don't have access to actual information. Information. You know, they're just asking questions. But many of these same people have direct pipelines to informational sources. So, for example, if Tucker wants answers to his questions about, say, Jeffrey Epstein, he could call the Vice President of the United States. He's quite close with him. But he won't, because that might undermine the empty

0:20:04 Thomas: And then this is great because we get to hear him distinguishing, you know, the fake conspiracy theories from the real ones.

0:20:11 Clip: Speculation. Because that might undermine the empty speculation. None of this means there aren't actual real conspiracies in the world. Of course there are. But actual conspiracies require actual evidence. Yes, there was a Russiagate conspiracy, and we know the names of the people involved We know Hillary Clinton and Fusion GPS and James Comey and Loretta Lynch and Adam Schiff.

0:20:12 Lydia: Okay. Oh, my God.

0:20:24 Thomas: You know, like, uh -huh.

0:20:34 Clip: Yes, There was a COVID-19 conspiracy. We know that Anthony Fauci worked to shut down alternative solutions from people like But when people posit a conspiracy and then provide you no evidence, they are doing you a fundamental disservice, and they are making you stupider

0:20:37 Thomas: Yeah, it's

0:20:37 Lydia: Stop.

0:20:52 Thomas: So funny. Yeah.

0:20:53 Lydia: He's like twisted up like a pretzel right now. Yeah.

0:20:55 Thomas: Because those are the same level of conspiracy. They're the same level. I think he just is unaware that he does the same thing that they do because his shtick is all about, like, facts and feelings and, like, all this stuff. I think he's tricked himself into thinking he has that, but he has the same amount of fact about those things as they do about whatever their bullshit is.

0:21:15 Lydia: Yeah.

0:21:15 Thomas: And so I think it might be one thing for him, but I got to imagine as your average MAGA idiot, who's like watching this or in the crowd, what skeptical tools do they have to be like, yeah, you're right. I would differentiate the theory about TPUSA covering up the death from the Fauci conspiracy by using the principle of, no, they just eat up these fucking conspiracies. They have no skeptical tools, cognitive tools to differentiate between your Fauci conspiracy and your fucking Israel Charlie Kirk conspiracy. They're the same thing.

0:21:47 Lydia: And that was all by design. Like he has a part in the audience that exists now. They created this.

0:21:48 Thomas: Yeah. Yep. You undermined institutions. And then he's going to cry about like, oh, they're undermining institutions. You're a part of it, man. You might not be as MAGA as the MAGA. You Might Not Be As Far To The Right As Some Of Them In Terms Of That, But Like You're Part Of That. Really Funny. And Then He Takes Questions. And I Think It's It's interesting because like, I might just play this quick one because I feel like I can tell without even knowing about this, that this is the exact kind of thing that the anti -Semitic conspiracy theorists would have at their disposal. It's like an obscure thing that you're like, what the fuck is this?

0:21:56 Lydia: Yeah, yep. Oh, yeah.

0:22:30 Thomas: And it's like, oh yeah, listen to this. It's funny.

0:22:32 Clip: Thank you for being here Ben. You cited during your speech truth as the most important tenet of American conservatism. Why therefore did you call irrelevant the Israeli attack in 1967 on the USS Liberty which left dozens of American American servicemen, dead, and hundreds wounded.

0:22:58 Thomas: What? What?

0:22:59 Lydia: Let's go back 60 years and chat about

0:23:02 Thomas: Yeah, it's so fucking perfect. This is the exact kind of thing these idiot douches, racist people come up with. They'll have something. Yeah, you call irrelevant the Israeli attack in 1967 What? Like, it's funny being on Ben's side of this, where it's like, what are you talking about? That has nothing to do with anything. Like, it's so obviously a bad faith thing that like these people who have these really shitty opinions find these ways to launder their points in these, like, historical references that can't possibly be relevant at all.

0:23:11 Lydia: Why therefore. Yeah, yeah, when the people who are cheering in the audiencetoo, do you think that they like also have heard this talking point?

0:23:41 Thomas: I think so.

0:23:41 Lydia: Or are they just cheering this?

0:23:42 Thomas: I think so, because something this specific is something that some fucking racist asshole. Yeah, or Candace Owens or Nick Fuentes.

0:23:45 Lydia: Yeah, Candace Owens has talked Yeah. Yeah. It

0:23:50 Thomas: Like, they probably made this point a bunch and they get to seem smart and, like, they try to, like, launder their shit by, oh, it's a historical point, you know. It's everything that this exact dude that you see here that would appeal to him. Yeah.

0:24:05 Lydia: Is interesting, you know, and Ben Shapiro did call this out, is like Nick Fuentes and Charlie Kirk were not friends. Right. And like there was some really, really bad blood between them. And for Turning Point potentially to be embracing Nick Fuentes, like seems really, Really strange.

0:24:24 Thomas: I wouldn't say they're embracing Nick Fuentes, but they're not going to make enemies of Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, any of those people.

0:24:26 Lydia: They're not not. Yeah, yeah. It's just interesting.

0:24:33 Thomas: I don't think Candace Owens is a speaker. Wow, I haven't gotten to day three and four. Shit. Was she? I don' t think so.

0:24:36 Lydia: I don't know yeah

0:24:43 Ad: [Ad break 2 — ad music]

0:24:43 Thomas: So that was a powerful speech. For a moment, when it comes to his particular group, he turns into more of a sane person, which is funny. And he says a lot of things that I would say, where it's like, Like, yeah, don't traffic in the conspiracy theories. Yeah, you're not just asking questions. Yeah, like all this stuff where like, oh, cool, man, you made sense for two seconds. And you noted you heard the audience like it's it's mixed.

0:25:06 Thomas: He's got supporters. He's Got Cheering. But it's fixed. And it's just interesting because like he goes first and then basically everyone after that. Nobody takes a firm Ben Shapiro side, I don't think. But it was so fucking funny to go. And again, I was just watching this like I didn't know what was going to come next. To go from that to what comes next.

0:25:05 Lydia: Yeah yeah is

0:25:31 Clip: So, we are at Amberfest. Merry Christmas to you.

0:25:31 Lydia: It's Russell Brand, oh, there he is, because

0:25:42 Clip: I've got to tell you, I did not anticipate being between Ben Shapiro and Tucker Carlson at a moment where that doesn't seem like a good position to be. Oh man, I'm so lucky that I've got Jesus. I'm so blessed that I got Jesus, I am so glad that I'm not responsible for this myself. I'm here to love you. I am here to, as best as I can, in my crazy little accent, tell you that my life has been irrevocably changed, revolutionarily changed, inconceivably ordered by the power of Christ Jesus. I want to share that with you. Do you know why I'm here? I better pray first, in case I mess up. You

0:26:21 Lydia: If I was in the UK, oh

0:26:22 Thomas: Yeah.

0:26:23 Clip: You know me, I'm done. Heavenly Father, would you guide my mouth? Would you guard my lips? Oh Lord, I bend my knee and my tongue will serve you, Heavenly Father and no other. Thank you, Lord, for your son, Jesus Christ, who died that we may know eternal life, but may we know eternity here in this moment, Lord. There is no statute of limitations on love thy neighbor. The whole world is our neighbor. We were intended to be one family, Heavenly father. You gave your life, you gave your blood and may the covenant of your your blood cover us all. I pray, Father, for the eternal soul of Charlie Kirk. I thank you for his sacrifice, and I thank You, Lord, that we have this opportunity to be here in unity, the opportunity for true unity, the opportunity for community, theopportunity to be different, Lord. I

0:26:30 Thomas: Yeah, He's praying.

0:26:45 Lydia: My god what

0:26:57 Thomas: Just doing a prayer.

0:27:07 Lydia: Oh my God, yeah, petty

0:27:07 Thomas: Is he doing a bit?

0:27:11 Clip: Thank You Heavenly Father for Erica Kirk's boldness and her bravery, and for her example of forgiveness, and surely if she can forgive the people of the man responsible, Lord, for the murder of her husband, surely this principle of forgiveness is something that we can all extend, Lord. May we know your grace, may we live in your grace, and particularly when it's expensive to us, when it costs us something, may we enter into your kingdom, a kingdom of love. May we put aside petty squabbles and disputes, Lord, and may we move into a new era of grace in your glory. I pray for the kingdoms to merge. I pray to your return. I pray that we participate in making straight the paths in the holy name of Jesus Christ, I pray, amen. I've got three children, I'm like, oh my god, give it

0:27:16 Thomas: Yeah.

0:27:45 Lydia: Oh

0:27:56 Thomas: Jesus. Yeah. This was one and this is rare. I had to slow down. I was like, I can't do this on 2X. He's so fast.

0:27:59 Lydia: My gawd yeah he said Erica Kirk forgave the people of Love the man?

0:28:13 Thomas: Yeah, I think he might have said the people or the man or whatever. Or yeah, the people. No, the transcript says the people of the man. Yeah, no, no.

0:28:16 Lydia: That, huh, okay. Interesting. Yeah.

0:28:22 Thomas: I thought it was like a misspeak.

0:28:24 Lydia: No, it's like the left or something strange.

0:28:26 Thomas: Yeah, yeah. But I think it's funny because he seems pretty into this Jesus thing. Now, maybe it's a bit. Maybe it's because of the sexual assault allegations. Who knows? Could be. Yeah. I love that. But I just think it is so funny because from a him perspective, perspective. Everybody's got their motives and most of it is grift. Like there are so many grifters. I can't wait to get to some of it. They didn't lead off with the grifter's.

0:28:35 Lydia: Yeah, statute of limitations from, you know, there's no statute of limitations for loving your neighbor. Okay.

0:28:52 Lydia: Well, you can't. I mean, that's like, yeah.

0:28:53 Thomas: Yeah. But day two is like grift day. It is so fucking funny. So the grifters have their bias. They're coming at you. And it's so funny how like transparently self-serving all this is. Ben Shapiro is Ben Shapiro. He's got his motivations in terms of Israel and like that kind of thing. He is just coming at it that way, obviously. Russell Brand, though, he's not here to make enemies. He's a man who needs as many friends as he can get.

0:29:11 Lydia: Right. Yeah? Yeah.

0:29:19 Thomas: And it's just so funny because he's like, everyone get along. I love you all. I'm just here not being arrested for rape. Like, just come on. Can we all get along, everybody? So great. He prays for two solid minutes without breathing. It's incredible. Man, there's some good stuff. I's just going to play a quick couple of hits here.

0:29:26 Lydia: Yep.

0:29:41 Clip: An iPad in the Dr Pepper, will ya, silence these children. I've changed a lot. I used to be vegan, now I eat meat. I've changed a lot. I used to be vegan, now I

0:29:54 Thomas: Why is that an applause line?

0:29:54 Lydia: I don't know. I don't want to know. Turning away from progressive ideals, I guess.

0:30:00 Thomas: Yeah, exactly. It's just so funny. Like, I don't, who cares? Like, it doesn't

0:30:04 Lydia: There's plenty of people we meet that are progressive, too.

0:30:06 Thomas: Yeah, it's like if someone, if we were in a lefty crowd and someone was like, I'm vegetarian or vegan, I might be like, cool, you're killing fewer people. What's the cheering the other way where you're like, yay, killing more animals? I said people, I meant animals, killing more animals, yay. Like, why is, I get the, like, not caring enough, but it's funny that it's so part of their identity They're like, yeah, meat. So funny. But then I love it because I feel like this caught him a little off guard and so he's like, oh, hold on, I've tapped into

0:30:12 Lydia: So, yeah, Yeah.

0:30:29 Lydia: Yep. Flesh.

0:30:44 Clip: Eat meat, everything. Don't tell me you're more into carnivorism than the incarnation. Don' tell me your more into eating flesh than God became flesh. Don't tell me you are more enamoured of the barbecue sauce than the Holy covenant of blood. Is delicious, man. I missed it. I was vegan for so long, I was so hungry. It was a desperate, desperate time. I can't get enough steaks now. I've tried. I'm doing nothing but devouring them continually. Create facsimiles of

0:31:17 Thomas: Something. Yeah, it is pretty funny because he said that he's converted to Christianity at some point, and that didn't get as much applause as I eat meat now, and everyone's like losing their shit. So he goes, he goes back and, and, you know, he gets a few more reps on that to try to milk the audience. It's kind of funny. Yeah, this guy's insane.

0:31:18 Lydia: So weird. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Just so folks know the count that we're at right now. The initial charges involved four women. It was five offenses, four women, and then as of this month, two new charges involving two additional women. So now we have six women.

0:31:47 Thomas: Oh, wow. So, and you're saying charges? Oh, man, I haven't kept up with this at all. Jesus Christ.

0:31:55 Lydia: Yeah? Yep. Yeah Yeah, so he has criminal charges that he's facing as well as a civil lawsuit.

0:32:01 Thomas: Wow. What's the time periods? Like, oh, Jesus.

0:32:03 Lydia: 1999 through 2009.

0:32:06 Thomas: And they're able to do, well, I guess it's the UK. I don't know how their statute of limitations works, but that's, wow, hey,

0:32:09 Lydia: Yeah, yeah. So he has another court appearance towards the end of January. And trial is expected to begin in June.

0:32:19 Thomas: Maybe it is all because of that. And maybe he's just so talented of a speaker that he's like, he's really into, this goes on. He goes on into the Bible and his readings and his whatever. So who knows? But I take it back. It does seem like an opportunistic grift now that you say he's charged with criminal whatever.

0:32:38 Lydia: Yeah, pending hearings and stuff, yeah?

0:32:38 Thomas: Yeah, no, that's true. I guess I'm just saying he's good at the grift. Like he really milks it. Like he's really into the Jesus, which I mean, I guess I will say this. I feel like the Christianity might be genuine because he could have done it another way. Like he could have still done the opportunism, but just gone like, oh, I used to be the left and they suck. Like he goes stuck to that, you know, like he could've stuck to like, I, and he does, he adds in a little bit of that. Yeah. He could have just stuck to the good old, like, Oh, Hollywood. And you know they suck like he very proactively goes for the Jesus stuff. So I feel like maybe he just is Christian and like leaning into it, you know, it's

0:32:44 Lydia: Yeah. It's very convincing. Right.

0:33:02 Lydia: Why I turned away from the left.

0:33:16 Lydia: Yeah, Yeah.

0:33:17 Thomas: A lot and in detail that I could never muster in a million years. He's really into this Jesus thing. At least it seems like. He also sneaks in about a billion conspiracy theories in a few seconds here. It's pretty amazing, holy shit. Scrolling through the transcript, it's like, Jesus, like 10 sentences per second. Oh man, this is great. So here he gets to rattle off some, uh, some things here.

0:33:29 Lydia: Hmm.

0:33:43 Clip: Systems of omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence, and I tell you this as a proud Englishman from a country where they're introducing facial recognition technology, digital ID, ending trial by jury, incarcerating people for free speech. The United Kingdom is in trouble and we look to you for an example and that example must be transcendent of the political. In short, I can't collapse my love and devotion to Christ Jesus into support of one or any political party. I know that Turning Point's here to advocate primarily for Republicanism and I'm not suggesting they change what they're doing. I'm telling you that I love Jesus. That unless people are following Christ, they will fail you and they will let you down. Now, I happen to think that Trump's performed near miracles in office, as a matter of fact.

0:34:00 Lydia: Ending trial by jury.

0:34:39 Lydia: Oh my God.

0:34:40 Clip: Near miracles, because I think he happens to be a pretty obstinate, anomalous and unique individual. That's what I happen zu believe about Donald Trump. Authentic and open, a stumbling block for global imperialism that was on the precipice of total domination.

0:34:43 Thomas: Yeah, this is bullshit now.

0:35:02 Thomas: I love this though. So this is interesting.

0:35:07 Clip: But, when Donald Trump makes a post like he made about Rob Reiner, God bless and God rest Rob Reinhers eternal soul, goal. I would say that's further evidence of Trump's lack of filter. Trump makes mistakes. He says things that are regrettable. There's no chance of that with your former president, because I don't suppose that auto pen could handle making X posts. Frankly, I'm surprised that Biden could keep hold of that auto-pen with Hunter Biden in the household. Surprised didn't sell it for crack or just directly use it to smoke crack. I see.

0:35:07 Lydia: But, hmm.

0:35:50 Lydia: Wow.

0:35:51 Thomas: But it's so funny that for one reason or another, the Rob Reiner thing's too far for him. At first I thought, oh, he's just glazing them over Trump again to just the general, he is accused of rape or whatever, like sexual assault. I guess I don't even know what the details are with that, but bad stuff. And so he needs a new home, but he was actually spending that political capital on, hey, the Rob Reiner thing wasn't great, which is so weird. I don't think so, but like, Like, who knows? I mean, it's also funny, like how universally loved Rob Reiner

0:35:56 Lydia: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Did they ever work together?

0:36:24 Thomas: Is like even even this alleged rapist who is currently appealing to this Jesus crowd for refuge, you know, is like, I'm going to risk it by saying. And I look, it's so funny because this happens over and over and over. There's special rules for Trump because they'll condemn, they'll condemn all this stuff. They'll condemn people that obviously there's people they hate. There's all this tough. And then when it's Trump, well, regrettable things, you know, they all do it.

0:36:24 Lydia: Oh, yeah. I know. Yeah. Yeah.

0:36:57 Lydia: Well, he's a fallible man. We're all fallible human beings.

0:36:59 Thomas: Look, he said, yeah, there's some things he does that I don't anyway, burn them at the stake when it's like the other person. It's so fucking funny. But I just, isn't that funny? Like the Rob Reiner stuff.

0:37:08 Lydia: Yeah. It's crazy. Yeah. It's interesting.

0:37:13 Thomas: And he has to sandwich it with red meat because he goes with the Trump glaze and then the Biden hate.

0:37:15 Lydia: Oh, Yeah. And you can tell because the audience, like they are reacting and he knew he knew how this was going to be as he's like preparing this, though. Who knows? He might just be speaking off the cuff, honestly, like frickin Russell Brand is just a loose cannon. Like it might just be nonsense, but yeah

0:37:30 Thomas: Yeah, I think he is, but it's still a plan.

0:37:35 Lydia: Yeah, but I think you can tell in the audience it's exactly like what you would expect, right? Like it is silent the second it seems like that he is. Yeah, yeah.

0:37:41 Thomas: Well, he is a he was a stand up comedian and he absolutely is just feeling the crowd. Like, he's going to feel the crowd. And I think it's really interesting to witness because, like, clearly Russell Brand is a talented speaker in terms of just the amount of fucking words he's able to conjure. Like, it's crazy. Yeah. And he's able to do an impression of a thinking person. And what a weird guy. Like, it's just so fucking bizarre. But like, it's also just so telling to see the kinds of things that he uses and the kinds of appeals he uses. And he spends some of that capital for Rob Reiner. It's so weird. What a weird thing. Anyway, there's more here.

0:37:48 Lydia: Yeah. Oh, and The vocabulary that he's able to pull. Yeah. Not

0:38:21 Clip: Things differently from Ben Shapiro. I gotta tell you, whilst I respect him, I respect his faith and I respect that we worship and praise the same God, I recognize that, but I believe it's important and vital to have conversations with people that oppose difficult opinions and opposing opinions. I've spoken to Nick Fuentes, I've spoken to Candace Owens, they're Christians like you and like me and were they not? They're broken human beings like you, like me, like Ben Shapiro, like Tucker Carlson, no one's better than anyone else. We're all on our knees shoulder-to-shoulder under the blood of Christ, and what I would advocate for is

0:39:00 Lydia: Ben Shapiro. That's

0:39:01 Thomas: Except Joe fucking Biden. Fuck him. You know, it's so funny.

0:39:11 Clip: Supreme compassion for Erica Kirk as a human being, as a woman, as a mother that's lost her husband as a woman who has to have, like, I left my kids to come here today, man, like my little boy who's two, my little boy whose carved heart led me by the hand to Christ, that little boy that I handed over to anethetist, anethus, hold on a minute, I can do this, anesthetist, someone here with your accent, anesthetists and needs people that, oh, let's just cut this bit, it's not being streamed live, is it? No one cares about this, everyone's just like, did you see what Ben Shapiro said about Tucker and then and then Tuck is gonna, oh my god, man, oh man, well, um

0:39:14 Thomas: Funny. I always come back to Here, he does these impressions

0:39:56 Clip: Honestly, I can't believe that Tucker Carson would have an interview with somebody and not grab them by the throat, frankly. We're children of God, no one knows anything, you're but in the event that

0:40:05 Thomas: So insane he's so fucking insane. Oh boy, here's a weird one, you ready for the weirdest? This is so fucking funny, we get to skip a lot of this, but are you ready? And no peeking if you can still see. Okay, good, this is fun. First off, I just gotta say there is a rebrand that he's attempting that I think is really funny, where the most boring point of view that you could possibly ever have is now revolutionary.

0:40:07 Lydia: Really weird. No I can't tell anything, it's so Small. Okay.

0:40:40 Clip: And there's a red traffic light, I'm taking my freedom as an American.

0:40:48 Clip: Because the world has been captured by evil and they're training you to be obedient. Anarchist calisthenics, I call it, anarchist calisthenics. Break rules every day just to remind yourself you can bow down to the only true authority, not to made up phony authorities turn up here because here this is Luke 4 Luke 4 6 the temptations of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus this is the devil talking right now I mean when I read it not me I

0:41:17 Thomas: Isn't it so funny to be like, yeah, the anarchist way, Down with authority. Anyway, Jesus Christ, here I am at Republican fucking convention, essentially, you know, the party that controls all three branches of government is in charge of everything.

0:41:20 Lydia: Yeah. It is so weird. And pro-police.

0:41:33 Thomas: Patriarchal fucking shit. Yeah. Punk rock, baby. It's so stupid.

0:41:35 Lydia: You're telling them to go, like, break rules and break laws and stuff. Yeah.

0:41:42 Thomas: God. Okay. But you got it. Actually. Oh, it's right after this. You're going to love this.

0:41:49 Clip: Am saved although this shirts pretty diabolical baby and my wife got me this shirt I love my wife oh man my ex-wife's parents are here they're Christians and I love them I love Mary Perry god bless you thank you for bringing the message to me. I've got to say, though, look, Katy Perry, I was married to her. I love her still,

0:42:00 Lydia: Stop. Katy Perry's parents are there?

0:42:09 Thomas: Yeah.

0:42:16 Clip: And I'm glad that her mum's in the room to hear me say this, but look, I wasn't okay with Orlando Bloom. But Justin Trudeau! Come on, man! Don't put me in a category with that guy, that globalist stooge. This question is for me because you had brought it up, uh, your

0:42:22 Lydia: Oh, I heard about this. Yeah, yeah.

0:42:40 Thomas: So fucking weird.

0:42:41 Lydia: Weird.

0:42:42 Thomas: It's so weird.

0:42:44 Lydia: Very strange.

0:42:44 Thomas: He's like, well, my ex -wife's parents are heroes and I am so not into celebrity anything. I didn't have any idea what he was talking about until he's like Mary Perry. I was like, wait a minute. Oh yeah.

0:42:47 Lydia: Yeah? Oh really? You're like, oh, that last name.

0:42:59 Thomas: That's what, how weird is that? Yeah.

0:43:02 Lydia: Yeah yeah that's so strange. For him to have any opinion about who she's dating and I'm not like a big Katy Perry fan now anyway. I think she's incredibly out of of touch. But I've seen the footage of when he told her that he didn't want to be married to her anymore right before her concert. I think a lot of people who've seen that will never forget that. And for him to have any opinion about who she's seeing and who she is dating or whatever, like even as a joke, I'm so uninterested in that. Go away. Go way and talk about Jesus some more. What are you doing? Like, why are you spending any of your time up on stage talking about Katy Katy Perry. So weird.

0:43:08 Thomas: Yeah. Hmm. Yeah, yeah. Oh, boy.

0:43:41 Lydia: Just to go after people that the left might like, I guess. Justin Trudeau.

0:43:45 Thomas: So then he brings out someone named Joe Bob, which could be anybody.

0:43:49 Lydia: Joe Bob. Yeah, really good.

0:43:53 Thomas: I don't really care about it, except we get another funny thing.

0:44:00 Clip: Ex-wife is now dating a guy who should be deported, Justin Trudeau. Do you think the way that you've turned out, she actually might be the catalyst for people becoming super based? You think that Katie Perry, well firstly I will say this, her mother is in the room and I've remained good friends with her father and Katy Perry, yes, Mary Perry, praise Jesus, I've got nothing but good things to say about Katy Perry or indeed anybody. Justin Trudeau on the other hand, oh man. Like, look, the biggest threat to our society are political leaders that have no authentic power, that seem to be operating on behalf of global bureaucracies, that seems to get

0:44:05 Lydia: Deported. Deport it. What?

0:44:44 Lydia: What is he talking about?

0:44:45 Thomas: He's like, love everybody. Anyway, Justin Trudeau on the other hand. The selective christian love is so funny and it's throughout this entire thing

0:44:49 Lydia: Yeah. Let me talk some weird conspiracy shit. Yeah. Also, where is he getting deported from?

0:44:58 Thomas: I don't know is he in america right now I don'T I DON'T KNOW maybe he assumes since he's dating katie perry they're they're in the same country yeah I don' t whatever

0:45:06 Lydia: I guess, but she could be in Canada or they're on either side of Niagara Falls. I don't know.

0:45:12 Thomas: What a weird thing and I just think it's so funny that he

0:45:16 Lydia: Praise Jesus. But I hate this this guy. Yeah.

0:45:17 Thomas: Yeah and it'S LIKE OH UH THEY'RE IN THE ROOM LOVE THEM I DON' T THINK HE He has only nice things to say about Katy Perry.

0:45:25 Lydia: No, absolutely not.

0:45:25 Thomas: I suspect that he's a raging misogynist when it comes to talking about Katy Perry, not on Mike, but it's just so funny how transparently self -serving it all is at all times. He knows his audience. He knows what he's doing. It's really, really funny. How weird though? What a bizarre thing. It's just more Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, another 10 minutes of Jesus until we get to Michael Knowles. I think

0:45:36 Lydia: Yep.

0:45:49 Lydia: Michael Knowles. Oh, man.

0:45:57 Ad: [Ad break 3 — ad music]

0:45:57 Thomas: We have a moment to do a little bit of this Michael Knolls character before we have to probably break for the episode because we got Tecker Carlson next after that and that's that's going to be its own thing. I love to the walk-in music. I mean, they let's just the camera's literally rumbling with the bass And then they always get their sizzle reel So Fucking dramatic. God, the the production value. I mean, this stage is like the screen at the Dallas Cowboys stadium.

0:46:09 Lydia: Oh man.

0:46:33 Lydia: Yeah, this is insane.

0:46:48 Lydia: Oh, yeah.

0:46:48 Thomas: Like it's like 47 feet of screen and graphics and flags and everything and high -tech lasers. This is nuts. The amount of money they must have raked in.

0:46:57 Lydia: I was going to say, yeah, I wonder how much money it costs to rent this venue and have the staff.

0:47:03 Thomas: Well, we'll see in day two that I'm sure tons of that was paid for by grift. There's so much product placement. Here's the sizzle reel.

0:47:08 Lydia: Oh.

0:47:11 Clip: I am sick of hearing about the death of the West from people who refuse to get married and have children. If a politician cannot tell the difference between a man and a woman, that politician probably doesn't know much about anything at all. All laws delineate between right and wrong. They are enforced by a system of justice. We have been given an opportunity we do not deserve. The founding fathers, the framers of the Constitution, all the great men who have have built our country, understood that God exists. That fact constitutes the basis of

0:47:46 Thomas: Freaking, like, fireworks. Isn't that insane? That's the walk-up music. And then it's funny because my note here is that, like, he took a truth serum and

0:47:46 Lydia: These people are so unserious. Yeah I know. It's ridiculous. Like wrestlers. Oh yeah.

0:47:57 Thomas: I think it's pretty obvious in the beginning, so let's just play a little bit of this. God, the fucking music All that for this fucking wildest dork you've ever seen in your life, like it's crazy

0:48:05 Lydia: Rumble, am I right?

0:48:17 Lydia: Oh yeah, Daily Wire second string.

0:48:18 Clip: Thank you all very much.

0:48:19 Thomas: Unbelievable. Oh He's gay. Okay. OK,

0:48:19 Lydia: Like he's not, Not... Yeah, no.

0:48:26 Clip: Are there like 500,000 people here? Every year, I would say it, every year I come, it's 1,000 10,000, now this year I think we've reached about 4 million Packed to the gills, people everywhere, thank you very, very It is always great to be at AmericaFest, which, through the the efforts of TPUSA and TPUSAs founder has become the largest, most energetic, most crucial gathering of young conservatives in the country.

0:48:32 Lydia: And Mary Perry.

0:49:08 Thomas: Look, they always say that whenever there's something like this in town, Grinder is lit. And I'm just saying maybe that's all. It's all say.

0:49:15 Lydia: Yeah.

0:49:21 Clip: America Fest is always a highlight of the year on the American right. It has to be if we're going to sneak away from our families and abandon the kids right before Christmas. It has always got to be, and it always is, fabulous. It's especially important, however, for us all to be here this year to pay tribute to our great friend Charlie Kirk. The way everything happened, Charlie and I actually were supposed to host an event together 12 days after a leftist ended his life. Many more events followed.

0:49:32 Lydia: Okay.

0:49:52 Thomas: Sure.

0:49:54 Clip: Charlie, as you all know, had a lot of friends. He had roughly 30 or 40,000 friends, I think, actually many more than that. They came in and they helped to finish that tour as well in the latest right-wing Civil War I say the latest Right-Wing Civil War because there's always some civil war going on on the right right-wingers are too independent-minded to avoid it there are by my count two factions on the left there are the progressives and the very progressives in John Fetterman if I'm being

0:49:52 Lydia: Apparently four million.

0:50:03 Thomas: So funny.

0:50:18 Thomas: Sure. Uh huh.

0:50:26 Lydia: What?

0:50:28 Clip: Being fair, there's also John Fetterman. There is, whatever he is. On the right, however, we have the populists, the fusionists, the neocons, the paleocons. The Wall Street conservatives, the Main Street conservatives.

0:50:32 Thomas: Jesus Christ.

0:50:42 Lydia: What?

0:50:45 Clip: The religious right, the irreligious right, the libertarians, the traditionalists, and half a dozen other ideologies in the middle. All vying for power, all accusing the others of not being truly or sufficiently conservative.

0:51:01 Thomas: This is really funny because he goes on for a little bit on that. But he actually like he just starts telling the truth in a weird way.

0:51:08 Clip: The actual history of the American right tells a different story. In America alone, the right has been the party of tariffs, it actually founded on tariffs, and then we hated tariffs, and now we kind of like tariffs again. We were the party against immigration, then we We really liked immigration, we said all the immigrants are American, they just don't And now we don't like immigration again, I think that's pretty clear.

0:51:36 Clip: We have been the party of foreign policy restraint, and then of adventurism, now of restraint Does this mean, therefore, that we stand for nothing?

0:51:35 Thomas: This

0:51:36 Lydia: Huh.

0:51:47 Thomas: Is so telling because, I, like, I was watching this, I was like enraptured because I was like, what is happening? To a stunned audience, he's like, yeah, we're pretty much fucking hypocrites, and who gives a shit? Yeah. I'm like, what is the uniting thing? Like, what is it that holds us all together in his view? Let's

0:51:52 Lydia: Yeah. And we always have been. Yeah.

0:52:03 Clip: It means that we respond to reality. Reality. If there is one thing conservatives pride ourselves on, it is our relationship to reality. The left has no relationship to reality, the left castrates little boys to try to make them into little girls, but conservatives do respond to reality and one of the crucial facts about reality is that circumstances change. Politics is not some pure science of abstract ideals. It is the practical art of applying eternal principles to constantly changing circumstances among real people in a specific place in time. Is that too wordy? Well, I'll simplify it. Politics is about getting along together.

0:52:07 Thomas: See. Well, that's not true

0:52:21 Lydia: Oh, my God.

0:52:52 Thomas: I hate to say this, but if you weren't looking at him, he just sounds like Ned Ryerson, Needle Nose Ned, Ned, the

0:52:58 Clip: That's what it comes down to. It's built into our human nature and we cannot survive without it. So how do we get along? How do we get along as a country. At the highest level, we cannot get along with leftists who want to murder us. We cannot do it. It's not possible. Would that we could, but we can't. The people who minimize and justify and even celebrate the murder of innocent conservatives for political disagreement, can't get along them. The embrace of political violence is is only growing on the left. This is backed up by survey after survey. Even a major liberal magazine had to admit it. To get along as a country, then, we need to restore order and de-radicalize the left, to do that, we have to keep winning. We have been winning. We are winning more. We need to keep on winning. We have to do it. There is no substitute for victory.

Anyone who tells you that we don't need to win, forget about the midterms, forget about '28, forget about politics, anyone who tells you we shouldn't try to win, tune that person out. That person is a loser. I want nothing to do with that person. The squishes on the right who tell you that it's preferable to lose with dignity than to, what, than to try and to win, or the doomers who tell you that's impossible to win anyway so just forget about it, you know know, why even try?

Losers, every single one of them, tune them out, ignore them. There is something in all that black pilling for them, for the broadcasters, there is nothing in it for you. Cynics can profit off despair, citizens cannot. Tune it out.

0:52:59 Lydia: Oh, yeah, yeah.

0:53:43 Lydia: Oh, what's that magazine?

0:54:53 Clip: We need to win. Have I been clear about that? We need to win. If we are going to get along as a country, we, the right, need to win, and to keep winning, we need to get with each other. So how do we do it? How do we unite? Do we let just anyone in? Are the doors wide open, just like the border, right? No, obviously not. All political movements have boundaries. I know that we're supposed to be against cancel culture now? I never was, actually. I've always looked on the bright side of cancel culture. This is another one of those shifts on the right. Before we were the party of absolute free speech, anything goes. We were the Party of Joe McCarthy. You know, we were the party canceling communists. We are the party standards. I think standards are very

0:55:19 Thomas: Head

0:55:26 Lydia: Oh. Interesting.

0:55:27 Thomas: Yeah.

0:55:39 Lydia: Mm -hmm. Huh.

0:55:41 Thomas: Yeah, isn't that weird weird? I'm gonna pause to just say this is the most horrifying kind of fascist to me. He's smart enough to know all of these reasons why the party's full of shit but doesn't care, like, he just cares about winning, and he can't get along with us, and he needs to win, and then we have to win because we haveと get rid of leftists. Like, it's this guy's scary. It's pretty horrifying. Yeah, it's, it's pretty weird. Like, in, in some ways I almost get the, the zealots who were just like, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, a little bit more than, like, this guy's just cold, calculated.

0:55:49 Lydia: Mm. Mm hmm. Yeah. Yeah, it's like cold and calculated

0:56:21 Clip: Very good and very conservative. So no, we don't just take anybody in. Some things are out of bounds. Injustice, cruelty, vulgar hatred on the basis of race or sex or religion.

0:56:35 Thomas: Evil. Yeah.

0:56:36 Clip: Not only are those things wrong in themselves, they're politically toxic. Charlie knew to exclude all that stuff. You don't build a winning coalition with a reviling spirit. Spirit. Fair enough. Some qualities are non-negotiable. It's not all the little ideological hobby horses of the various rival factions. It is not exactly this policy or that policy. The qualities that distinguish the right, that set the standards for the team, are broader than that. To be on the team in my humble opinion you have to love our country. Is that

0:57:00 Thomas: So what is it? Here we go. Hmm.

0:57:15 Thomas: Well, that's weird because every single Democratic politician pretty much says they love the

0:57:22 Clip: Many on the left today seem to hate the country. Leftists burn the symbol of the country, they defame the people who built the country, they seek to fundamentally change the country, weaken the country, surrender the country and all of its supposedly stolen land. Those people are not on my team. Team. If you love this country, if you want this country to succeed and get stronger and flourish, you know what? You're on my team. We're on the team together.

To be on the Team, you have to acknowledge that there is such a thing as the American people. We are not just an idea floating in outer space. We a real people with a real historical lineage and a real historical destiny. We came here on the Mayflower, which is a great cigar brand by the way, we came here, thank you, we came here other ships as well. We landed at Plymouth and Jamestown. We fought a war of independence and plenty of wars after that.

We spread across the continent. We have a real, historical experience and character that is not magically imbued through a few lines of philosophy or a naturalization pop quiz. At different times, we've taken in foreigners.

0:58:36 Thomas: Country. Jesus Christ, a naturalization Pop quiz. It's white people. Oh my God. Hold on, it gets a little worse, and then it's almost done here, but this is fool this is

0:58:38 Lydia: Pop quiz. Yeah, yeah.

0:58:52 Clip: When it's worked, those foreigners have come to act and talk and even look like us. When it hasn't worked, they haven't. If you prefer the flag of some other nation, the customs and habits of some other people, you are not on my team. If you are and want to be a member of the American people, people, you are on my team. Simple as. To be on the team, you have to believe certain things. You do not, as the various factions contend, have to be in some particular marginal tax rate. That's not part of the sacred creed of America.

You don't have to have to believe in some mid to late 20th century slogan about diversity being our strength or America being a nation of immigrants. You do not have to cling to the specific economic orthodoxy of the 1980s. You don't need to worship at the altar of the free marketplace of goods or ideas or anything else. You can, I'm open to that, but the American creed, the The conservative creed is more expansive and responsive than all of that.

The American creed, forged, in the words of John Adams, through the general principles of Christianity and of English and American liberty, says that we are one nation under We believe that we became a nation under God's grace and according to his providence and that we have a responsibility to cooperate with that grace according to those principles. If you reject those principles, you are not on my team.

If you believe that conquer we must when our cause it is just, and this be our motto, in God is our trust, you are on my Team. We are fighting together.

0:59:02 Thomas: Evil.

1:00:45 Thomas: What, Jesus This guy is insane, and it's pretty crazy to hear it laid bare, obviously in very coded language, or somewhat. But imagine being like a Black Republican and being in there, you know, like, how are you doing that? How are they listening to this guy being like, well, it's not any of these, you know, ideas or principles, really, it's Um, whiteness in so many many words, you know, sometimes we let foreigners in, but, uh, you know, some, it doesn't really work.

1:00:46 Lydia: Yeah, yeah. Mm. Hmm.

1:01:12 Lydia: As long as you have assimilated enough. Yeah.

1:01:14 Thomas: Yeah. It's a, it Doesn't work. It's, uh. It's whiteness. Crazy. Get to the end here.

1:01:17 Lydia: Yeah.

1:01:21 Clip: The worst thing about assassination is that it works. Some people really matter. And it matters when you take them out. And I pray that this will be the exception. I pray that the right can sort out its differences with patience and grace and plot a path forward that leads us all to victory. The opportunity for true unity,

1:01:32 Thomas: Hmm. Jesus Christ.

1:01:48 Lydia: Do you think any of this, I mean, it's not like the factions of the right is a new thing, but this is the same day as Ben Shapiro. Do you think he, like, made any edits after Ben Shapiro spoke to kind of, like, highlight any of that?

1:02:02 Thomas: I don't think he's at all in response to Ben Shapiro. I think he is. He's on his own fascist axis. You're referring to the peacemaking a little bit, but I think his was very, very much broader than that.

1:02:05 Lydia: Okay. All Right. Yeah.

1:02:16 Thomas: Like, and it seems very scripted. He didn't look at the Ben Shapiro, Tucker Carlson feud and then talk about like all those factions he listed, the Reaganites, the whatever post, whatever. Like, I think this was his scripted speech. And I just think it's really cold and calculated. He doesn't give a shit about anything other than defeating the left. And it's, yeah, it's horrifying. I don't know. I think that maybe he adjusted some things here and there, but it seems like largely the entire speech was written. And so it's like it'd be hard to believe that he did a whole lot before, uh, he came out. But no, I know. It's just like, this guy's real, it's, it's the people like this were like, oh yeah, it's a Nazi rally. It's, if you put this a little differently and if you flash forward to the camps, it's, yeah,

1:02:17 Lydia: Yeah. Yeah. I was just curious, but yeah.

1:03:04 Lydia: Yeah.

1:03:04 Thomas: Okay, that all fits. All we got to do is win, and it's real Americans, wink wink, that are on my team. Everybody else, we can't live together. Just like, fucking, oh God, these fucking

1:03:18 Lydia: So he has a specific podcast, I guess, what it's called, that's affiliated with Prager. You, he does the book club on There. So he's had his own show on The Daily Wire for years and years and years. But now he also has a hand in PragerU, like, pretty deeply, which is, you know, infiltrating the schools and everything.

1:03:24 Thomas: Fascists. Hmm.

1:03:37 Thomas: That's weird. Because this feels like such a more threatening speech than that. Really weird.

1:03:44 Lydia: So well, I mean, I think it's a way to get your ideas in. Yeah, I don't think we've ever done a deep dive on Michael Knowles.

1:03:49 Thomas: Yeah. I recognize the name, and I'm like, yeah, I can't think of what we've done.

1:03:57 Lydia: He was in Lady Ballers. So we talked about him for that. Yeah. Yeah. Just a little bit character there. But otherwise, I know. I don' t know that we've covered any of of his content on the show. So maybe we're past due for that and we should check some of that out.

1:03:59 Thomas: Oh, he was. Ah, well.

1:04:11 Thomas: After him is Tucker Carlson. We'll pause here, and then, uh, next time we'll get into Tucker Carlson, and it's, wow, get into that response to Ben Shapiro. It's fun. Oh boy. I was sorry to go out on that horrifying fascist bone-chilling fucking note, and it is so weird seeing this complete dweeb calmly speak fascism. It is such an easy thing for them to do. I think it is just the impunity of being white and never having consequences on you at all Like just confidently Coincidentally, being able to spew hatred and really vile stuff.

And it's not a big deal to this person because he knows he's one of the people that won't be on the other end of that. Just it's sickening. It's these these little surprise ones. I don't know. It's just like trying to get a feel for these folks and where this is all going. And it's just like increasingly disturbing. So, yes, there's the Tucker Carlson's and the Ben Shapiro's. But like Ben Shapiro, the further we go on, like he's now the leftist and it's fucking crazy. So. All right. Next time on Where There's Woke, Tucker fucking Carlson. And then hopefully we can get into some day two.

1:04:22 Lydia: All right. Yeah. Yeah, exactly.

1:05:26 Lydia: The

1:05:26 Thomas: We'll see you then.

1:05:48 Lydia: Defense attorney. Thank you in your honor while we're waiting. I don't care if this is on the record. I have a really bad sore throat. So if I put something in my mouth, it's not gum and it's not candy. Okay. But if anybody wants a Ricola, I'm happy to share them. And then the court. All right, and then the defense attorney, thank you and the court says depends on the flavor they said some of them are nasty oh man yeah

1:05:49 Thomas: Yeah, it's important stuff. Glad that's not redacted.

1:06:20 Clip: The opportunity for community.

1:06:24 Thomas: Yeah, meat.
