Opening Arguments
Election Night: We Streamed Until We Got Tired of Winning
Live midterms watch party! Thomas, Matt, and Jenessa parked in front of three screens on election night and just let the good vibes happen. We've got Mike Johnson saying something out loud on camera that he absolutely should not have said days before results came in. We've got Idaho forcing its voters to pick one official state gun (you can't have them all, Idaho). And we've got Ken Paxton's unhinged AI attack ad against James Talarico, possibly the worst political ad ever produced. Plus a genuinely enormous amount of good news that none of us were quite emotionally prepared for.

0:00:00 Thomas: Ah, hello everybody. So here, I'll do the first harmony. Hello, and then Matt can do hello, and then Janess can do hello. Wait, you both are musicians. Yeah, you both could do that.
0:00:07 Jenessa: Hi. Yeah.
0:00:09 Matt: Oh, and I'm fresh off my tour of my Tom Waits cover band, obviously. So with this voice,
0:00:14 Thomas: Yeah is anyway so what's going on tonight
0:00:15 Jenessa: That always sounds made Yay.
0:00:16 Matt: Yeah. Just drinking tea.
0:00:20 Jenessa: Oh boy. A whole lot.
0:00:22 Thomas: It going, real-life attorneys Matt and Jenessa, of course, how you
0:00:26 Jenessa: Oh, it's going real good because I just refreshed this page and they called the Georgia governor for Keisha, what is this, Longbottom? Lance Bottoms.
0:00:35 Matt: Lance Potoms, the first black woman
0:00:38 Jenessa: We have a Democratic governor.
0:00:36 Thomas: Keisha, Lance Bottoms, you're thinking of Neville Longbottom.
0:00:39 Matt: In 250 years, the first black woman ever to be elected governor of any American state, yeah, 250 years,
0:00:43 Jenessa: Oh shit, really? God. Yikes. That's awesome. We have our first openly gay senator, so that's cool, out of New Hampshire.
0:00:46 Thomas: Wow, that is sad.
0:00:47 Matt: Yep, yep, right, and Chris Pappas, and I had another one too. We've got, excuse me, the first trans and non-brand new lawmaker elected in Georgia also, which seems like a big one. Bentley Hudgens, congratulations.
0:00:56 Thomas: Really
0:01:06 Jenessa: Oh wow, that's awesome. Nice.
0:01:09 Matt: So we'll keep these first coming. There's going to be quite a lot tonight, I'm sure.
0:01:11 Thomas: Matt, you sound like RFK Jr. THIS IS SO WE WEREN'T YEAH We weren't making it up when Matt was not good enough to record Matt his voice was not
0:01:12 Jenessa: Yeah. Oh, no.
0:01:14 Matt: I'm kind of concerned I might be stuck this way. Should have taken out of insurance on my voice when you had the chance.
0:01:22 Thomas: Yeah Yeah, I have insurance on your piano playing hands, but yeah, okay, well, hello everybody. What were your thoughts going into it, Matt? We'll start with you. What were your thoughts going into it, and how, how has the night felt relative to your expectations?
0:01:40 Matt: So I've been thinking a lot about the Michael Anton piece, the Flight 93 election, which I'd to revisit for virtually for a vapid response. It was an terrible piece written by a terrible person about how it's time to just grab the plane and drive it to the ground, because what else are we going to do, and he was, it was super dramatic, it was really bad, it's like a complete dishonoring of yeah because of Hillary, because we're all going to die anyway, he literally said this, he said this might sound histrionic to some people in 2016, um, but I've decided after spending the weekend playing with the band, uh, that this is the one headlight election, we're going to drive it with one headline. That's what we're going to do. We're going to take it back, and we've got two years to just cruise one headline. We can make it through. That's
0:01:48 Thomas: I remember Because of Hillary or what? Oh yeah, okay. Uh huh.
0:02:04 Jenessa: Okay.
0:02:19 Matt: The best we're going to hope for.
0:02:19 Thomas: This is the, this is the, you ran out of gas and you're going to, you know, there's one time, have I ever told you this when I ran out of gas and got really fucking lucky? I ran out of gas back when I was in college or just after one or the other, I can't remember because the gas gauge didn't work on the car. And you know, I was, I was, I was calculating and I flew a little too close to the sun.
You know, I was like, okay, I got this. I was mere miles from home, but I was on the freeway. Gas runs out, engine quits. And I'm like, oh, this is not, this sucks. And so I, but I'm near an exit, so I'm still coasting. I'm on the exit. Is, this is an analogy for us in the election. Trust me. I'm, I'm coasting and I, I'm, I'm still, fortunately it's not an uphill. We're like pretty level, you know?
I get to the exit, I see a gas station on, so as you exit down, it was like across the street from that, so like if you exit, it's across, and the light is green.
0:03:18 Thomas: And I was like, if this stops, if this goes red before I get there, then I have to stop and then I'm stuck, you know? Because you have to do your momentum. And so I'm going, I'm like, please God, please God, please God. Or it might have been that it turned green like right when I got there, might have been red and then turn green. It turns green. I coast over into the gas station and coast into the spot to get gas. Exactly, and I, and I'm, it was one of those were like, had it gone an inch any other way, I would have been the biggest pain in the ass, because this wasn't like, I mean, it wasn't like pre cell phone. But it was pre like ubiquitous, I could just get a hold of anybody at any time cell phone times. And And so, that's this election. We're going to just barely be able to coast the car into the gas station or into the charging station, whatever you like.
And then we can't really do anything meaningful, as I talked about on SIO for a couple of years, but, well, we can do some semi-meaningful stuff. Well, Jenessa, let's throw to you, your voice is working, I think, although that's been, you both have been pretty sick, right?
0:03:37 Matt: You. We go.
0:03:41 Jenessa: Okay.
0:04:19 Jenessa: Yeah. Oh, God. Well, I'm finally I don't even want to say I'm over it. It feels like it's just always there in the background. I'm fine for now. Things are good. Yeah, I have my voice. I made red, white, and blue cupcakes. I'm very excited for that. Yeah, I think we're doing pretty dang good. I don't think we're coasting, and I think we're slamming into a wall right now. This is crazy, um, it, because it's not just about winning, right, it's the swing, and like the Texas governor might flip, that's a big fucking deal, they will, can I, should I not swear on the live stream?
0:04:33 Thomas: Ooh. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Sure. Sure. No, that's fine. Who cares?
0:04:55 Matt: Oh, yeah.
0:05:01 Jenessa: The, um, like Texas,
0:05:03 Thomas: I've been so consumed with the Senate and the House, I haven't looked at that.
0:05:05 Jenessa: I know, Texas flipping the Senate would be obviously awesome, and it's looking really good for Tallarico. If they flip the governor too, that means somebody is in office who could possibly get rid of some of the voter suppression that happens in Texas. It means they will be the governor during the next census when they do redistricting. That's a big deal, because we all know if Texas ever goes like reliably blue, it's over for conservatives in America. There's just, to be left and center left, but we're waiting for Texas, and we've been waiting for Texas since I was a child, so it's looking pretty good. I bonked
0:05:14 Thomas: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, we would have
0:05:46 Jenessa: A plate.
0:05:46 Thomas: If we would have told us in 20, let's say 12 or 16, one or the other, if we would have said, hi, I'm from the future, we're gonna turn Texas blue before Florida. Wouldn't that have been like, there's no, that's wrong. Cause we thought we had Florida for a minute. Like it was like, oh, we got this. Did Obama win it once? I can't remember. But like when Hillary lost it, it was like kind of shocking a little bit. And then it was like, we've been nowhere close. That's my memory.
0:06:15 Jenessa: No.
0:06:15 Thomas: I might be off on one election cycle.
0:06:16 Jenessa: Florida is solidly red at this point.
0:06:18 Thomas: Yeah, but it was really close for like a couple elections.
0:06:18 Jenessa: Yeah.
0:06:21 Matt: I just tell us about the party or at what's up. You said it's a bunch of people staring at screens talking about math.
0:06:23 Jenessa: Oh, yeah, I'm coming to you live from my friend Nick's bedroom because we're having a watch party. That started right before the polls closed. So we've been watching.
0:06:33 Thomas: At first, I misunderstood that you were having a watch party in his bedroom, was when I first read your thing. It took me a second.
0:06:38 Jenessa: No, I am alone for the moment. No, everybody's in the living room. But yeah, it's been good so far.
0:06:45 Thomas: Matt's in witness protection, and, go.
0:06:47 Matt: Yeah, that's fine.
0:06:48 Jenessa: Just keeps lagging. I don't know.
0:06:49 Matt: So you got a bunch of election loners over there too or how
0:06:50 Thomas: None.
0:06:52 Jenessa: Oh, yeah. No, everybody here is furiously refreshing pages. Nick has been yelling out the Kalshi projection markets all night. So it's a good vibe over here, for sure. Everybody's in a good mood.
0:06:53 Matt: Nice. Nice. I took a look at call she just for fun, and I did see that looked like it was matching the polling pretty closely, was in the crowds.
0:07:11 Jenessa: Yeah, pretty much. At some point, you have that wisdom of the crowd, exactly.
0:07:14 Matt: It should be illegal but it does seem to be tracking at least this.
0:07:17 Thomas: You
0:07:18 Jenessa: No, no, it's not betting. It's selling futures.
0:07:21 Matt: Of course not. We don't have a bed around here.
0:07:23 Jenessa: So dumb.
0:07:24 Matt: That would be illegal.
0:07:25 Jenessa: I was putting out something the other day of like, these are the ones that I think either the polls have wrong or like the models have wrong. I think this one's going to flip. And as soon as I started writing it, I was like, nobody better bet off of this because I'm telling you the ones where the odds are bad and you should bet anyway.
0:07:43 Matt: Yeah, that's right. Make some money with Jenessa. What's your top... Where do you think the balls are going?
0:07:47 Jenessa: No. No, thanks. Okay. The one I'm, like, super hoping for. New York 21. It's Elise Stefanik's old district. So, no incumbent. The guy running sucks. Anthony Constantino. The Yeah, there is a Republican, he is the CEO of Sticker Mule.
0:08:01 Matt: Nice.
0:08:05 Thomas: So, there's a Republican in the race, okay.
0:08:15 Jenessa: Yeah, I don't know, some people are going to be like, oh, of course I know what that is. He just sucks, he's like the worst person. He like declined one debate and then went to another one and showed up and debated a chicken because like, oh, he's too chicken to come to the debate and like, it's so dumb. The whole thing is so impossibly stupid.
0:08:14 Thomas: Mule. Sticker mule
0:08:32 Matt: Okay, all right, very fine.
0:08:36 Thomas: Finding is the chicken one. It's
0:08:39 Jenessa: I, so right now with 26% of the vote in, uh, Blake Gendebian, the Democrat is up. The last time Elise Stefanik won this, she only won it by, I want to say 10 points. So like 55%. We are within that level of wave that that could happen tonight. I don't think it's going to happen, but it would be really cool. Because this guy sucks and we could get a Democrat in there for the, it's like the first time since the 1800s or something ridiculous. So I'm watching that one and excited. Obviously I'm watching Tallarico. We all are. Texas is
0:08:39 Thomas: A weird thing I think
0:09:13 Jenessa: Just a big deal.
0:09:14 Thomas: He, I think he, that one's pretty much, uh, sealed, right, or am I too optimistic there?
0:09:17 Jenessa: They haven't called it yet, but
0:09:19 Thomas: They haven't called it. It looks pretty good.
0:09:19 Jenessa: I mean 54% of the vote is in and he's up 20 points, which is not the percentage he's going to win by. But, oh no, Wait, 39, 49. No, yeah, he's up 20, but that will not be the final tally.
0:09:29 Thomas: Yeah, I think it's gonna win
0:09:34 Matt: I saw a few days ago that Mike Johnson is telling people who still get to speak for the house. So let's just say things, you know, let's just say things and make them true. Oh, yeah, yeah, he's on record, we can play the clip later, but he says it out loud in front of a camera that he thinks he's still gonna be speaker of the house.
0:09:45 Jenessa: Oh my God.
0:09:39 Thomas: Yeah sure man why would why would you do that to yourself, like, what, why
0:09:51 Matt: Just, you're just never gonna play that every week.
0:09:51 Jenessa: Just so I can play that back later.
0:09:52 Thomas: You don't have to no I mean, why would he do that to himself? Like he's gonna, they're gonna lose him saying that has no, even from his own self-interest that doesn't, it's not going to do anything good. All right, Matt. Uh, let's see. Can people see this? Can you still hear us?
0:09:56 Jenessa: I know. No. Exactly.
0:09:58 Matt: Yeah. Yeah. Here we go. This is an actual Idaho ballot question. I can still hear This is not made up.
0:10:11 Thomas: Hmm. Okay. Here. I'll read it. Idaho advisory question, which of the following guns should be designated as the state gun?
0:10:20 Jenessa: What the fuck?
0:10:22 Matt: This is real.
0:10:23 Thomas: Please choose only one, answer, important, because some people are like, "Fuck I can't choose only one. I can't choose only one. The Winchester model 1894 33, I don't know, guns don't care, Winchester model 1873 quote the gun that won the West important
0:10:24 Jenessa: No. No!
0:10:26 Matt: It's going to be difficult.
0:10:40 Matt: Well, can't go wrong with that, you're a night owl.
0:10:41 Thomas: 1873, Colt single-action army revolver, called the peacemaker, okay, M1 what, Garand rifle, I don't know if that's how you pronounce it, Colt M1911, maybe Colt pistol 45, Remington model 700 bolt action rifle, man, that's a what, an important question, There's
0:10:58 Jenessa: So, there's not an option for like, please don't do this, this is stupid.
0:11:02 Matt: Yeah, no guns.
0:11:02 Thomas: An option for like, I'm sorry, fucking what, that should be of the options oh
0:11:09 Matt: Well, I'm sorry to tell you, because we live in America, this would actually be the 11th state. It doesn't get a state gun by law.
0:11:12 Jenessa: Are you kidding me?
0:11:14 Matt: Yes. I looked. I had to check.
0:11:16 Thomas: My God. What Is that what what does that do, like, does any murders you commit with the state gun, it's like, yeah, you get a couple years discount off your sentence, like, just You Use The state Gun
0:11:24 Matt: You can sing the state song while you're shooting people and yeah, I don't
0:11:26 Thomas: Yeah,
0:11:28 Jenessa: Because, like, the state bird is cute. That's like, oh, fun, we have a bird that we like, whatever, it means nothing, right?
0:11:30 Matt: Right. It may also murder. I mean, a lot of those birds are pretty predatory. But still, it's a cute bird. Yeah, gun.
0:11:39 Jenessa: The state gun is, that's
0:11:41 Matt: Who needs it?
0:11:38 Thomas: What if
0:11:41 Jenessa: Just an endorsement of a corporate manufacturer.
0:11:42 Thomas: Shoot The state bird with the state gun?
0:11:45 Matt: I have to point out the state gun of Arkansas by legislation is the shotgun. They just said the shotgun.
0:11:51 Jenessa: Just the shotgun?
0:11:52 Thomas: The shotgun?
0:11:53 Matt: No brand or anything. It's just shotgun.
0:11:54 Jenessa: They don't have a name? Okay.
0:11:54 Thomas: They called shotgun.
0:11:56 Jenessa: As opposed to what? Like just a pistol or a fucking rocket launcher?
0:11:55 Matt: Yeah. Yeah, they call check and Arkansas. And of course, I got the state guns in Massachusetts right here, folks right here. He gets them but they're here.
0:12:02 Jenessa: Okay, whatever. You guys have one too?
0:12:07 Matt: There we go.
0:12:06 Thomas: No, no, his guns.
0:12:08 Matt: Yeah, man. The only designated guns ever gonna have and I don't work out to be clear. So yeah, there's the best guns we're gonna get.
0:12:09 Thomas: He's showing us his guns. Yeah.
0:12:08 Jenessa: Oh, oh, I thought, I thought I was learning something super weird about Massachusetts just now, but no.
0:12:19 Matt: Yeah, if we ever mistake, I'm moving. That's it. We did actually have guns on the ballot this time. And it was too to preserve the incredibly strict gun law that we already passed. We have, I'm proud to say the strictest gun laws in the country and we are going to be preserving that tonight.
0:12:20 Jenessa: OK. OK. Nice.
0:12:32 Thomas: Wow, amazing.
0:12:34 Matt: And we actually had the most valid questions we've ever had it was the longest ballot I've ever seen. But I'm all for it. I love the questions I'll be probably preparing our conversation with more valid questions. Every time you keep overwhelming the spreadsheet numbers. I'm just going to make you look at more valid questions will be fine.
0:12:34 Jenessa: OK. Oh, wow. Please do. I'm going to have to open
0:12:48 Matt: We can do this.
0:12:49 Jenessa: Up My local ones. In my county, we are having a ballot proposal about whether we should get rid of elected coroners and have an appointed medical examiner who actually has to be a doctor to do an autopsy?
0:12:59 Matt: That's a good one. Yes, everyone should do that. Yes.
0:13:05 Jenessa: How is this... But there's like some New York counties, including mine, that have not done it yet.
0:13:07 Thomas: Yeah.
0:13:10 Matt: How does the state not have a standard for that?
0:13:12 Jenessa: It's county by county in New York.
0:13:13 Matt: Wow. Wow. Mass is always in.
0:13:15 Jenessa: You can choose.
0:13:14 Thomas: I just want to know what the, like, campaigns have been for Coroner. Like, do you campaign with a bunch of skeletons or, like, some bodies? You know, you're like, here's, here's the following autopsies I've done. They've gone well.
0:13:29 Matt: Have a town hall where you bring in some bodies and I'll identify. Bring your own.
0:13:32 Jenessa: The, the argument I heard from
0:13:34 Matt: B-Y-O-B.
0:13:34 Jenessa: The opposition is like, oh, it's so nice. It's a community member. And like when something bad happens, they like come and tell you. And I'm like, would the medical examiner not do that? Like I
0:13:42 Thomas: Nice?
0:13:44 Matt: Do you want me to do that? I don't think you want me to do that.
0:13:46 Jenessa: I just, anybody could do that part if you want like the ambassador.
0:13:48 Matt: Yeah, no.
0:13:48 Thomas: Yeah. I feel like it's the cutting up bodies part. That's like the more important part of the job probably. And also ruling however police want and again when police wants you to call something something you you do that that's what they Yeah, I wish they had the
0:13:50 Matt: Yeah.
0:13:54 Jenessa: I, I would think so. Texas governor is 56.9 to 41.8. So that's looking just as good as Talarico, which I was not anticipating.
0:14:15 Thomas: Yeah, I don't know why ... Oh, it's Abbott again. Okay, so it's not like Florida where What's meatball Ron? I guess maybe it's termed out or something.
0:14:21 Jenessa: Yeah, what was his deal? Did he get termed
0:14:23 Thomas: He might be termed out Does does Texas just not have the term limits? Not every state has them
0:14:23 Jenessa: Out? I don't know. Yeah, I don't think we have it.
0:14:28 Thomas: Yeah, Oh God Abbott is losing so badly, that smug fuck. I'm so glad. You know, it's funny, a good sign of the times. I'm telling you, if this were the 90s and I had kids, I would talk to them about politics probably in a different way, because like, I don't want them to... Like, it's a tumultuous time, I don't, I wanna do the thing with my kids where I'm like, "Well, here's the situation, what do you think?" I wanna give them things for themselves, you know, I don't wanna just tell them, "You're a Democrat because we're Democrats," you know, I don't like doing that with anything with the kids. And the funny thing is, things have gotten so bad that I can't even describe a single race without it already being like, "Well, you see, there's an evil fuck who treats humans like cattle and ships them off to play," and you're like, all right, I can't even try.
0:15:14 Thomas: You can't even try to like present it in any way to try to get them thinking. Cause it's just like, yeah, there's fucking the evilest piece of shit and we're beating him. Good. That's it. That's end of discussion. He fucking sucks. This guy sucks. He's evil. He's literally evil. And we're winning. That's the news. I don't know how to put it any better. That's pretty much it.
0:15:24 Jenessa: Okay.
0:15:23 Matt: Yeah. Yeah, that's great. We used to call it Coke and Pepsi, and now it's just Coke and sewage. Here we
0:15:36 Jenessa: I'm going to click on this. Looks like Michigan's got 18% of the vote in, which should not be enough to call anything, but they're putting it as lean Democrat now. I'll click on this and figure it out.
0:15:45 Matt: About 18 percent.
0:15:44 Thomas: Yeah, that was the one I was the most worried about. So I noticed a pattern. Now it ultimately didn't matter in Florida because all the ones we want to, all the people we want to win are losing. But for a while I was noticing that the races that were going well just so happened to be either a white man or they were going against a person of color and the ones that were going badly were a person of color or a woman, uh, like, uh, like Angie Nixon, and you can't help but notice how just mysteriously all the the women, people of color are just running two three points behind, it's like, oh, what are the odds, they just aren't as good of candidates, you know, just what are the
0:16:05 Jenessa: Right.
0:16:23 Jenessa: It's almost like we can mathematically measure sexism and racism, so that's fun.
0:16:28 Thomas: Yeah, seriously, within the same state, it's the Florida governor versus the Florida Senate race. They're both, they're same, they're both statewide, right? There's no real reason, you know, and if anything, Angie Nixon, I think, was a better candidate from the limited, you know, I only had limited exposure to that particular race, and wouldn't you know it, it just sucks that we're still there, you know, we're still, there's always going to be a couple point penalty and it's just it's so frustrating
0:16:34 Jenessa: Okay. Oh yeah. Yeah.
0:16:57 Matt: I did do a little. Okay.
0:16:57 Jenessa: The good news is New York Times is giving I'll say the 82% chance at this point. So that looks really good.
0:17:02 Matt: Nice.
0:17:03 Thomas: A Relief, because that's, that's what brought that to mind, was I was most worried about him because of that, just that awful Islamophobia, person of color, bias, wow.
0:17:08 Jenessa: Yeah. They're estimating the margin for him will be plus 6.6 and most Michigan Senate races are like within a point. It's normally a hotly contested state. So like that's big.
0:17:22 Thomas: That's a huge relief, that's a huge relief to me, whoa. Hold on, big news.
0:17:25 Jenessa: Yeah. What do we get?
0:17:29 Thomas: I've been keeping an eye on the New York, and maybe this is old news, sorry, I've been, I've been trying to, you know, keep up with a lot of tech, but I've been keeping up with the New York Times needle. You know, the the needle, and for the entire night, it's been at the likely, likeliest outcome was the Senate, 53 Democrats, it's now at 54.
0:17:35 Jenessa: Yeah, Oh.
0:17:47 Thomas: So the New York Times is saying 95% chance Wow. Oh, yeah, it went from holy shit. This is awesome. I Must admit I don't know when this happened It might I don't know if it just happened or what but it was the the the needle on the New York Times was modest for the Senate. It was like, yeah, lean Democrat, you know? And it was ranging around 52, 53. And all of a sudden, Very likely Dem. And the estimated seats right on the 54. Fucking yes! God, that's so good.
0:17:47 Matt: Oh, All right
0:17:55 Jenessa: Oh.
0:18:15 Matt: Yes.
0:18:17 Jenessa: It's going to be really good.
0:18:18 Thomas: Oh, yeah.
0:18:17 Matt: Jammed that needle in my arm. Love it. Hey, you guys want to celebrate by watching the stupidest ad that was ever produced in this cycle?
0:18:21 Jenessa: Yes,
0:18:22 Thomas: Yeah. Yeah. Oh my God.
0:18:27 Jenessa: Please.
0:18:27 Thomas: Give me, give me, let's, let's, Hold on, Matt, give us a minute. Let's just, let's enjoy this for a second longer, if you don't mind. Mm. I'm telling you, this needle right here was like here. They were being modest. They were like, oh, you know, it's leaning. Leaning Democrat. And that was not that long ago.
0:18:29 Matt: Yeah. No, no, let's enjoy it. No, I'm Sure.
0:18:42 Thomas: What, yeah, I am so happy. I said this in several places. My biggest fear, because I was pretty sure, I trusted that we were gonna win, but my biggest fear was that it would be 51 and we'd have to listen to fucking John Fetterman. It would have been insufferable. The swing vote on it. Remember how much we had to hear from what's-his-name, who again, I always defended, would be so great. Imagine if we had Joe, what's-his-name again?
0:19:00 Matt: Yeah, we've already forgotten West Virginia, yep. Mention.
0:19:11 Thomas: Hi, that's a bad name. Joe Manchin, imagine, I know I've said it. Imagine how great that would be instead of Satan McFuckface. Whoever we have is just a Trump. We have Trump there now. Wouldn't it be better to have a guy who's annoying that you hate that votes with us 75% of the time? Isn't that better than 0% everybody? Just bothered me to no end, but whatever. Now we have a 0%. We would have had to do this thing with John Fetterman. We would have had to hear from him all the time. And with 54, oh, I can't wait to not care what he thinks. God, I can't wait.
0:19:39 Jenessa: Okay. It like truly deeply won't matter because in this climate too, they're doing a way better job of, like, I know it's a big tent, but rallying together on the most important stuff. It's not like McConnell levels of making sure everybody stays in line, but it's, it will not matter very much what Fetterman is up to. I mean, it'll matter for Pennsylvanians, that sucks. But when's he up?
0:19:43 Matt: Never again.
0:20:07 Thomas: I don't know that it'll matter
0:20:08 Jenessa: Two years?
0:20:08 Thomas: For Pennsylvanians, they, what are we passing? What legislation is passed?
0:20:10 Jenessa: Yeah, like he doesn't govern the state, he governs
0:20:12 Thomas: That's what,
0:20:12 Matt: It's not doing anything.
0:20:13 Thomas: You know, that's what got me so much. A question or chat, more than half the Senate requirement for impeachment, yeah, it's 67, isn't it, or 60, yeah, it's not happening, yeah.
0:20:13 Jenessa: The Fed. It's two thirds vote, yeah, so that's not happening.
0:20:26 Thomas: Okay, Matt, at long last, I've taken it in enough, but God, oh, so good.
0:20:22 Matt: Yeah. I to try to pepper in some fun as we go here. This is Ken Paxton's anti-Talarico ad. It is the worst piece of shit I've ever seen. It is AI generated, and I think you'll very much enjoy it.
0:20:38 Jenessa: I don't know.
0:20:37 Thomas: Oh, God. Oh, is this the singing stupid one? I don't wanna hear that one again, okay.
0:20:43 Matt: No, I don't think you've heard about this one.
0:20:45 Thomas: Good. Kornacki is calling Annie Andrews for South Carolina yep there you go good
0:20:53 Matt: All right, all
0:20:52 Jenessa: You know, and that really speaks to candidate quality because right now the South Carolina governor's election, 87% of the votes in, the Democrat is 47.1%, Alan Wilson, the Republican is at 51.6. So it's very different in the governor's race versus the Senate.
0:20:58 Thomas: Yeah Really. Damn it. Yeah. Let's see if now we can see whatever this ad was. I can't wait. It better be worse. If this sucks, it's going to be the funniest thing.
0:21:23 Matt: No, it's, it's really something. I've never seen anything like it as a campaign ad. It should not be like, we just need as a culture to come together and say you can't do this. You just can't do this.
0:21:26 Thomas: All right, let me see. Where was that?
0:21:40 Thomas: What?
0:21:45 Jenessa: No.
0:21:51 Thomas: Huh?
0:21:58 Jenessa: Oh
0:21:58 Matt: So for those who aren't watching, that's an AI-generated telerico sitting at his desk.
0:21:59 Jenessa: No.
0:22:01 Thomas: No, you didn't. That's the wor-
0:22:06 Jenessa: How is
0:22:06 Thomas: I need to do- I need to watch it again, actually.
0:22:07 Jenessa: That legal.
0:22:08 Matt: It's so bad. It shouldn't be legal, I'm telling He's scribbling in a Bible in Crayon.
0:22:12 Thomas: He's writing. Wh- why?
0:22:18 Jenessa: He draw a picture of himself in it?
0:22:21 Thomas: Who's a radical feminist? What?
0:22:33 Thomas: What? Wow. Sorry. I just had to take that in again. Like that's so bad. Hey, Ken Paxton, You lose! You fuck! Oh god, it's the best. It's so good.
0:22:36 Matt: Yeah, those are things he said. You should
0:22:43 Thomas: Fuck you.
0:22:43 Matt: Not be able to run an ad of your opponent saying things in an AI. I just, that's so bad.
0:22:48 Thomas: Ah, man.
0:22:49 Jenessa: People are going to think it's real. Like, it's not
0:22:51 Thomas: Yeah.
0:22:51 Matt: Yes. I mean, he did say some of those things. Like those are quotes that they're out of context, some of them obviously, but like you can't just string them together and like make them look like a child coloring in a Bible.
0:22:52 Jenessa: Okay. Right.
0:22:58 Thomas: Let me show you something that is real. Uh, it is, James Talrico up by 19 fucking points, you fuck!
0:23:06 Matt: There we go.
0:23:07 Thomas: So Good, 19 points. Look at this, ah, 1.1 million votes right now. What's how much is in, 56%. In, I don't have any idea, you know, I haven't checked the, like, pacing on that, but very likely, d-
0:23:07 Matt: That's right.
0:23:15 Jenessa: That's awesome. Yeah. They haven't written a prediction for the governor, but the numbers look very similar. It's a 15-point swing in Gray County, a 7-point swing in Sabine County. Like, it's, this is, this is
0:23:27 Thomas: Yeah, I think it This is nice. Hey, everyone, this is nice. This is a nice thing.
0:23:36 Jenessa: Nice. Doesn't this feel so nice?
0:23:39 Matt: We get some good stuff.
0:23:40 Thomas: Yeah, so I don't know, and not to put you on the spot, I doubt either of you had a chance to hear my show I did, but do we want to talk at all about what we can actually do or not do? Matt, I covered it a little bit as a non-lawyer. It's pretty basic, but, you know, there's not too much nuance to it because he's the fucking president and he can still veto every single thing. Now, I'm a little less clear on like the budget stuff, you know, like the weird reconciliation bill crap, like all that, I don't have a mind for whatever that means, but those will still be battles and for once we won't be in the position of where we were before, where we had a minority, but they still needed us for those votes for some reason, remember?
0:24:24 Thomas: Do you remember how that goes, Matt? Oh, sorry, go ahead, Jenessa, if you have it.
0:24:24 Jenessa: Yeah, so it depends. When it's the budget reconciliation process, or like, I think it's the budget in general, you only need 50 plus one or 50% plus one, which is 51.
0:24:44 Jenessa: Anything other than the budget and appointments, it's gonna still be the filibuster. But they do through this reconciliation thing, they put all kinds of stuff in the budget that is like basically laws that you're getting passed. And you have that thing where the Senate parliamentarian has to agree that this does in fact at least somewhat touch on the budget, or else now You're just messing with things. So truly with 51, if we had 50-50, Vance would break the tie, so you needed at least 51. Now with almost certainly looking like oh the New York Times officially called South Carolina, I think other New York Times being more conservative tonight other outlets are calling them earlier. With greater, 51 or greater, yeah, there's quite a bit you can get done that way. Now, I think Trump can veto those again.
0:25:07 Thomas: Okay. Hmm. Ah, man.
0:25:38 Thomas: Yeah, he
0:25:38 Jenessa: So, and then we don't have a be, nobody's,
0:25:38 Thomas: Can veto we're not passing. We're not passing anything now. There, it's interesting because there may be things that he might decide to sign, which I think will be very interesting. I don't know what it would be, because like he's a lame duck and here, I had a lot of thoughts. I got this out on the SI. Oh, like I said, so I might be repeating myself, though. I'm seeing some questions that I do want to address. We can't stop a lame duck Supreme Court retirement now. Here's something I missed. I don't know if you guys missed this, that Alito is for sure not retiring. By all accounts, he hired clerks through like 2027 or whatever. So all signs are to Alito not retiring. I haven't heard about Thomas. I haven't looked into it. I could see Thomas retiring in the lame duck to get replaced.
0:25:48 Jenessa: Yeah.
0:26:21 Jenessa: He is the oldest, right?
0:26:23 Matt: He's
0:26:23 Thomas: I think so.
0:26:23 Matt: Determined to be the longest he's actually on track. I think he'd have to get into 27 to 27 to do that.
0:26:27 Thomas: I thought he was the longest. Oh, really?
0:26:29 Matt: There's a second one, I guess, No, not quite.
0:26:29 Thomas: Oh, Oh, I thought he already broke that. Oh, okay. So, that sucks. We can't stop anything in the lame duck. But after that, I don't, I, oh, can we get a different majority leader though? Can we just get a, can somebody who's better be the majority leader? Chuck Schumer just, he's not doing it for me, you know? I wonder what that would take and if there will be a meaningful fight for that. What do you guys think? Or if it's just presumed.
0:26:55 Matt: Yeah,
0:26:55 Jenessa: I don't actually know how that process works, like how they pick the leader.
0:26:56 Matt: I think the time is right. But I mean, yeah, Schumer has called everything wrong. I mean, he was all the way behind Haley Stevens, all the way through that thing. He was, yeah, no, oh yeah. No, I mean, not all the way through the last couple of days, but no, yeah, well, probably now.
0:27:06 Jenessa: Has he dropped her now? Okay. Yeah. Because they
0:27:09 Matt: But I'm saying like, but
0:27:03 Thomas: Oh my God, really? Wow. Yeah, yeah. No, they've all,
0:27:10 Jenessa: Have, like, uniformly,
0:27:11 Thomas: Let's be fair, yeah. Yeah, I wanna be fair to, yeah.
0:27:12 Jenessa: Yeah.
0:27:11 Matt: Yeah, not now. But I'm saying, but like all the wrong people he's backed so far. I mean, let alone everything else he's done wrong. But then again, as we know, Mike Johnson will still be the speaker of the house. We should actually play that clip. I've just sent it to you because I just want to enjoy it for a moment.
0:27:25 Thomas: Hmm oh Yeah that now please. Yeah, I'm excited. Let me let me pop it up real quick. God.
0:27:28 Matt: We do need to hear him say it out loud. This is only
0:27:30 Thomas: I that is so funny
0:27:30 Matt: Three or four days ago when so
0:27:33 Thomas: God imagine being that bad at just personing
0:27:36 Matt: Saying things, you know, and all they got right now is the communist thing.
0:27:40 Thomas: Oh Hold on sorry blue. Let me let me take it.
0:27:43 Matt: Yeah, we're getting run that back
0:27:44 Thomas: I didn't didn't think it'd be right away. Okay?
0:27:45 Matt: DJ.
0:27:50 Thomas: Oh Uh huh.
0:28:07 Jenessa: Okay. What?
0:28:12 Thomas: Look at these people. Have you ever watched this show, you guys?
0:28:24 Jenessa: I've seen it before Oxen friends
0:28:28 Thomas: We watch it from time to time, not the full thing, but we watch clips from this from time to time for where there's Woken stuff. It is batshit. That guy is weird. They're all weird. They're all the weirdest people. Like the Fox News is down, the people who are willing to be that now, there's just something wrong with them, you know? And they're all, everything they say is like a little off and you're like, is this like a, like we're in the back rooms or something? You know, it's just, it's eerie, that show. But yeah, good. Did he call it, man? Do you get that prediction right?
0:28:57 Matt: Yeah.
0:28:58 Thomas: What do you think?
0:28:58 Matt: Is it official yet.
0:29:00 Jenessa: It's not official yet. We have 107 Democrats and 63 Republicans called so far by New York Times. I think other outlets will probably have it higher than that.
0:29:01 Thomas: Yeah.
0:29:11 Matt: You're saying there's still a chance. Thanks. Even if we don't get the 67, which we won't, we can create a record and we can annoy them quite a lot. And, you know, honestly, pass a bunch of bills that are like, you know, the Donald Trump Rules Act that, like, say you're renaming the national airport or something, but just, you know, destroy ICE. I don't know. There's got to be ways to get stuff past him at this point.
0:29:31 Thomas: I think as pessimistic as I am about the American people in terms of them following what's going on, I don't think there's any chance that if we pass something and Trump signs it, that people will be like, Trump did that. Like, I don't really think they will. I think they know, this is gonna be huge news, this wave election, the zeitgeist, the common understanding will be, wow, Trump got his ass kicked, MAGA got their ass kicked, and again, I'm trying to put my mind in the barely pays attention person, you know? Like, votes but doesn't pay attention much, because that's the people that we that are actually most important that we have the hardest time understanding is the people who barely pay attention.
0:29:44 Matt: Okay. Yeah.
0:30:08 Thomas: Uh, I think they will get the sense that wow, Trump got his ass kicked in this election, because it's going to be big news, it'll be everywhere, and then anything that happens in the next two years, I, I would find it hard to believe they would give Trump credit for it. You know what, I, um, similarly, one thing we do need to be careful about, I think, is the way they did the one big stupid fucking bill, and they time, or maybe it was the other one, they timed the, what is the Medicare, uh, reductions to happen after the midterms, if I'm remembering that right, we gotta, we gotta make sure there aren't casual politics people who think that we did that, you know, I'm sure it'll be fine, but it's just, one, this is another thing to worry about.
0:30:35 Matt: Yep, yep. Yeah.
0:30:45 Jenessa: There's some of the good signs coming out of this one. I think it was Georgia specific. I'll have to see later what ends up happening nationwide, but there's a huge increase in turnout among people who did not vote in the last three elections, which means you didn't vote in the 2020 presidential when you could have just mailed your ballot in, or the 2022 midterms, or the 2024 presidential, and you're turning out for a midterm. I think that is a person who will also turn out in 2028. I think that's, it's specifically Democrats who didn't vote in those elections are turning out.
0:31:02 Thomas: Mm-hmm.
0:31:23 Matt: Hmm.
0:31:23 Jenessa: It is waking people up.
0:31:23 Thomas: Hold on big news sorry to
0:31:26 Jenessa: Oh, what do we get?
0:31:26 Thomas: Interrupt this someone in the chat just said that the needle there might be a needle update. Oh, needle update, guys. No, 55.
0:31:31 Jenessa: I thought the needle was all the way over. Where are we at?
0:31:35 Thomas: 55. Holy shit. 55.
0:31:38 Jenessa: That's big.
0:31:39 Thomas: How did I Wow. Really?
0:31:42 Jenessa: When's the last time we had that big?
0:31:44 Thomas: After Obama, I don't think we ever got did we get up to? Yeah, I don't think have
0:31:47 Jenessa: Obama had a filibuster proof majority for like precisely three weeks because somebody was out.
0:31:52 Matt: Yeah.
0:31:51 Thomas: Yeah. Right. He actually didn't. Even Yeah. Exactly, but but we did have like 59 uh and then like I said on SIO again, you know, tried to give people health care and they fucking killed killed the Democrats for it and Then 2010 was a Massive
0:32:03 Jenessa: Ooh, Ohio governor, 79% of the vote in and Amy Acton is up 50.5% to 46.2%.
0:32:14 Thomas: No, that, okay, okay, that second number is better than I thought it would be.
0:32:18 Jenessa: Yeah, there's a libertarian polling 3.3% of the vote right now. So that explains
0:32:20 Thomas: Oh, okay, thank God. When you said 50.5, my life flashed, but I can't, I cannot have Vivek Ramaswamy, that's that one, right, that you were just saying?
0:32:24 Matt: Thank you. Yep.
0:32:24 Jenessa: Like, no, yeah, it is.
0:32:29 Thomas: I can't, I cannot have, if he wins, that'll ruin my life, I can't, I'm Sorry. That fucking guy can't win anything, there's there's no more shameless piece of shit than that guy.
0:32:32 Matt: No. Yeah. He should be should be driven out of politics, like completely forever, the same way that was even should be now after what she just pulled but
0:32:39 Jenessa: Thank you
0:32:39 Thomas: Yep. He should be driven out of society, it's, there's something particularly bad to me, for some reason, it, it's, it's not just the psychopathy, it's fake psychopathy, which is even worse, you know, where someone's like, "Oh, I know how I will win, I will pretend to be a psychopath," which in turn does make you a psychopath. If you're willing to be that, something about the combination of being fake and evil, like fake evil, is worse, you know? Because then it's like, your heart's not even in it. You just want to be evil and you don't care. You're completely amoral. You just
0:32:44 Matt: Yes, I mean, so much worse. Yeah. Mm-hmm.
0:33:19 Thomas: Want to win.
0:33:20 Matt: Are you sure he's faking it? I think he might just be able. I mean, anybody who would actually pull what he did with that ad.
0:33:23 Thomas: Well, that's kind of what I'm saying. Yeah, it's like he has so little regard.
0:33:26 Matt: Doesn't matter. Yeah.
0:33:28 Thomas: I think, to put a finer point on it, I think what he cares about is him. So I think if there were incentives socially for him to act better, he would, to benefit himself.
0:33:32 Matt: Yeah. But.
0:33:37 Thomas: So I don't think he's like evil in the way that he only wants to do evil. I think he wants to win and be popular and he will do whatever it takes. You know what I mean?
0:33:44 Matt: Knowing the story, which is very knowable, of Amy Acton's family and what happened to her and what happened, you know, And the fact that She hasn't been like signing off on that and thinking, That's something people would resonate that they'd want to hear this horrible woman that she hasn't spoken to in all of this time because of what she did to her and allowed to happen. It's just, it's incredible. I mean, you have to be so completely out of touch with humanity, and he deserves anything he gets.
0:33:48 Thomas: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah.
0:33:50 Jenessa: Oh, it was not an accident.
0:34:09 Jenessa: So the South Carolina governor's election, 88% of the vote in the Republican is up 51.8 to 47. But if you scroll down to that, how the votes compare with past elections, looking at the blue shift on this is crazy. Like he's probably, the Democrat is probably not going to win for South Carolina governor at this point, but the shift is unbelievable. Every single county that's being reported right now is 14 points more Democratic, 18 points more Democratic, 13 points. The polls underestimated at this point, I feel pretty confident saying they were saying like, the generic ballot for Democrats was like plus nine, probably. I think the outliers we saw that were in the plus 12 to plus 15 range were correct. It's huge.
0:34:26 Thomas: Yeah.
0:34:50 Thomas: I found yeah,
0:35:02 Matt: I mean, when has that ever happened? That is just...
0:35:02 Thomas: Wow, look at, And he's, and he's still gonna lose. God, that sucks, but, but, wouldn't you know it, it's a man of color, again, it's just, it's just like, it just seems like clockwork, you know? It's like, oh, who's running behind?
0:35:08 Jenessa: Yeah, probably 88% in. He's got 47. Yeah. And in the Senate race, it was two women in the Senate race, so you didn't get the sexism factor, yeah.
0:35:22 Thomas: Yeah, so it kind of canceled out, yeah. Yeah, that pattern has been holding for like eight years minimum, where it's like, you know, it's not like it's 100%, but it's like a good solid few percentage points, and it's just like, sometimes more, you know, it's just frustrating, you know? And people always talk about it, well, candidate quality, you know, candidate quality, and it's like, that's not, It's just racism, man, or sexism. I'm trying to look at what would have given us that extra one. I think it's probably the Iowa one. Jackson?
0:35:52 Jenessa: Kansas has 79% of the vote in and it says very likely Democratic, Kansas.
0:35:58 Thomas: Yeah. That's almost called, like it's like the maximum it, or was it
0:36:04 Jenessa: On New York Times, it's not called yet. I don't know if other outlets will call it earlier, but 79% of the vote in and the gap is 11 points in Kansas. That's enormous.
0:36:16 Thomas: Is incredible Main is guys, guys, are we gonna be done with Susan fucking Collins? I I didn't even dare to dream, I didn't dare to dream
0:36:24 Jenessa: They have it marked as likely Democratic. That was the one I actually thought was the most likely to not flip, because Maine is weird and they just have their own quirks and
0:36:35 Thomas: I have me Maine and Michigan for me were the ones I was worried about.
0:36:41 Jenessa: Michigan's still at 26% reporting. Thing.
0:36:44 Thomas: But I mean they have enough data to to do it so
0:36:47 Jenessa: Right, right. No, it looks really good so far.
0:36:52 Thomas: The Iowa one, I didn't think looked as good as it does now, that's, that's interesting.
0:36:55 Jenessa: Yeah, Iowa, Kansas, those are both looking really, really good. Oh, Texas made it to 60% of the vote counted.
0:37:04 Thomas: Good times, this is, this is, we're just drinking it in, we're just nice, hmm.
0:37:08 Jenessa: Delightful. Where's our House at? House is right now 111 Democrats, 68 Republicans. Oh, I got to check on my favorite New York one.
0:37:15 Thomas: Yeah, what's, do they have a, do they have a projection of how many seats on that? Let's see, uh, New York Times is saying, oh shit, New York Times is saying it's gonna be 252 to 181, or 182.
0:37:23 Jenessa: 252! That's fucking huge! That's a lot.
0:37:32 Thomas: A 70 seat majority is what they are projecting.
0:37:32 Jenessa: Whoa.
0:37:35 Matt: Well-deserved. They really earned that.
0:37:36 Thomas: Jesus Christ.
0:37:35 Jenessa: Yeah. And that's flipping.
0:37:39 Thomas: Holy shit.
0:37:39 Jenessa: What is- right now republicans are up by like three seats or something? That's flipping 50 seats.
0:37:45 Thomas: That was a little more. Yeah. Wow. Holy crap.
0:37:48 Matt: Mike Johnson will still be speaker to be clear.
0:37:50 Thomas: Yeah. He's like, you didn't let me finish because I am now a Democrat. Hi, I'm Democrat. My chance. Oh 200 what?
0:37:58 Jenessa: Oh, man. This might be the biggest swing in our lifetimes. Dude, the New York district I'm following, New York 21, 80% of the vote is in, and the gap, the Republican is ahead with 50.1% of the vote, and the Democrat has 49.69%. If that's even remains that close, that's incredible.
0:38:06 Thomas: Wow. Wow. Wow. It could be yeah This is insane, and they cheated. Now this is going to be, I'm going to enjoy data analysis of this election for two fucking years. I'm going to enjoy the shit out of it, because I would like to know how much of their cheating worked and we still beat them overall, and how much of it turned into the Dummymander that we talked about, if that's the term, right, because I think a lot of it did. If you gerrymander thinking you're going to squeeze all these seats out because you gave yourself a five point advantage or whatever, and you lose by 13 of a swing.
0:38:50 Jenessa: Right. That'll be interesting. Based on the, right, they're using 2024 data, which is not what you should be looking at.
0:39:03 Thomas: Yeah. Oh, fantastic. I wonder how state races are going. There's yeah. I wonder how that's going. Gosh, what a, what a great, what a great day. Let me look at, look at this page.
0:39:15 Jenessa: Yeah.
0:39:15 Matt: Oh, more good news for Virginia, man, Virginia, I gotta say Virginia, good work on these questions this year. Outstanding. They have repealed their same sex marriage ban that was passed and by by voters in 2006, which is obviously it's symbolic. And it's unenforceable.
0:39:27 Jenessa: Aww.
0:39:28 Thomas: Oh, wow. I didn't know they had that. Oh, okay.
0:39:32 Matt: But it was specifically put on the ballot because of what Clarence Thomas wrote in Dobbs about their concerns that this could really be a problem.
0:39:38 Thomas: Right? That's important. That's important.
0:39:40 Matt: So, yeah.
0:39:38 Jenessa: Very smart. Very smart.
0:39:41 Thomas: We saw that when abortion was struck down. There are lots of places where it's like, hey, had you just gotten this shit off the books?
0:39:44 Matt: Yeah. Ready to go. That's right. Yep.
0:39:49 Thomas: You know?
0:39:49 Matt: So, good job voters, getting it off the books.
0:39:52 Matt: So Virginia, to recap, we have reproductive freedom, we have officially repealing same-sex marriage ban, and restoring voting rights upon release from prison. That is, that's a threefer. That's a good one. Good work, Virginia.
0:40:04 Thomas: By the way, it just ticked up to 253. 253 to 182 now. Wow. That's crazy.
0:40:08 Matt: Wow, wow.
0:40:11 Jenessa: Ohio Governor, still too close to call, but 82% of the vote in and Amy Acton is at 50.7%, the VEC is at 46%, so it still looks good. Wow, the arrows on Ohio. Oh my god.
0:40:28 Thomas: This is great.
0:40:29 Jenessa: A 23 point shift in Perry County.
0:40:29 Thomas: Now here's, here's what I, Here's my fucking challenge. You know, what's the internet mean where you're like, "Something, something, something challenge," you know? Here's my challenge. Treat this in proportion. Hey, New York Times and media and everybody, treat this election proportionally to how you treated Trump's victory in 2024 and how that was just a rewrite of our whole country, and how it's all, oh, clearly they've won. They've won the culture war. They win everything. Now, clearly everybody wanted this. It's a mandate. It's a fucking mandate. The whole world has to change because they won an election by a few votes. Now do that, but for this. Do that, but for this fucking election. Multiply whatever the fuck you were saying and the absolute, because here's the thing that really was revealed by this 2024 election, even more so, specifically like as a where there's woke tie-in, the people high up in these institutions were always fucking lying. They were always just doing it to go along. They were just pretending to care about diversity. They're pretending to care about racism. They're pretending to care about homophobia, all this stuff.
They were just pretending for the most part. And the minute they had license to abandon that because Trump won in 2024 and it was a bad election for us, it was bad, they abandoned it and the whole, it felt like the whole culture just was like, yep, oh well, I guess we gotta be fucking racist and hate trans people now, darn.
0:40:53 Matt: Mm-hmm. Electron mandate.
0:41:05 Matt: Yep.
0:41:54 Thomas: And now do that for this, man. I guess we better make trans people all sports. There's no cis people allowed in sports anymore because of this election. This is a referendum. You seriously do this in proportion Fucking treat this election like you treated 2024 everybody. Well, I only trans sorry cis people We can't you can't go to the bathroom anymore. No, no bathrooms for you cis people because look at this election It's what happened 24.
0:42:17 Matt: Thank you. We've got We've to amend it. Got to amend it. That's
0:42:19 Thomas: Yeah fuck Open borders. It's now open borders Right. It's a mandate open borders because tell you what, it's also what they said we want So let's take everything that the Republicans in MAGA said this election was about, where it was the communism, like it was us, communism, open borders. Now we won. So we get that, right? We get open borders, we get socialism. I can't wait. What a great day. We should get all that stuff. Let's just play a super cut of everything they said would happen if we won and be like, so let's cash in. Let's cash out rather. What's the word I'm looking for? I want you to, you know, I want to turn this in And you give me all the socialism and the open borders and the trans. Give me all that. Thank you. God, fuck this.
0:42:26 Matt: Yeah.
0:43:02 Jenessa: I can't remember what the numbers were last time I said this. Kansas is now at 88% of the vote in and the Democrat is up by nine points in Kansas. That's like
0:43:11 Thomas: Wow. God. I can't wait for this. I can't wait for the two years of this. Of just the analysis and the whatever. You know, the only thing that's too bad is that they didn't fuck up the polls. I wish they had fucked up the polls and thought that Trump was gonna do better, just so we could also throw that in their face. Like, oh yeah, remember when you fucked up the polls in 2016 and you did endless mea culpas to the right? Oh, we just aren't in touch enough with the Republicans.
We gotta hire a bunch of them at New York Times and all those places, you know, fuck. Yeah, it sounds like you gotta hire a trans socialist now, Everybody, New York Times. Yeah, hire a bunch of trans socialists to explain to you what's going on, because it's the only way you'll know. I was gonna say, you know, someone in the chat said, unfortunately there's no mandate, it's all just about the price of something in 2024, it was just eggs this time it's feel. Yeah, no, I know. I hope people understand. I think some people don't understand what I'm doing, a little bit of satire.
0:43:19 Matt: Thank you very
0:43:21 Jenessa: This'll be nice.
0:44:08 Jenessa: I wish
0:44:09 Thomas: Yeah, that's the point.
0:44:09 Jenessa: This was a vote about civil rights.
0:44:11 Thomas: There was, exactly, like in the same way that the Trump victory in 2024, it wasn't a massive referendum on the left. It wasn't a massive, you know, culture war swing. You know, they make all these narratives that are a tiny bit true, but it's more about the fucking price of eggs. It is that, you know? It is more that I don't, I think the people, I think largely speaking, the people's attitudes on these issues, on the culture war issues, haven't changed all that much in the past two elections. You know, people are trying to, obviously Republicans are trying to make things count, make it more salient, but it really does. What I said earlier is like the people who seem to matter most are the people who don't pay attention that much. And it's really hard for us to get in the mindset of them. And it's not as though they decided that, you know, fuck all immigrants and trans people in 2024.
0:45:02 Thomas: They actually didn't. They didn't care enough to not to, but they didn't. They just, the prices were bad and they voted for the guy that for some fucking reason they thought would fix that. And it's kind of the same here, honestly. Unfortunately, I wish it were that this was a massive, you know, referendum on, you know, I think this is a referendum on ICE, certainly. I think you could, I think that's reasonable to say, like people are fed up with ICE. I think we'll see in the exit polling what the most salient issues are. But yeah, it ultimately will probably boil down to he completely fucked everything up in the worst way possible economically. And it's such an own goal too.
0:45:24 Matt: Yeah. Yeah.
0:45:37 Thomas: He did, I can't think of a time in history when it's been more obviously this one asshole's fault. You know?
0:45:37 Matt: Yeah. Historically catastrophic for one person yeah no it's incredible. I do see those pictures both out of Texas and Minnesota have people still slapping their other either I voted stickers on the, the ice somewhere else for the victims of ice. I think that was really, really telling.
0:45:54 Jenessa: Thank you.
0:45:57 Matt: It's, I mean, that really has become such, it's good to see that people, you know, have woken up to that.
0:45:44 Thomas: Yeah. Mm, that's really, that's really, wow, yeah. Yeah.
0:46:02 Matt: They had to see it first, but yeah, no, but and also, you know, the fact is the Republicans have made this and you heard this from Mike Johnson in the clip we just played. They've made a referendum on Marxism and socialism, they're saying that this is, you know, that, and there's just demonstrably, like, Abdul Asad is not a Marxist, he's just not, none of these people are Marxist. Like, this is not happening.
0:46:01 Jenessa: Yeah. Thank
0:46:11 Thomas: Mm-hmm. Yeah, and again, the point I'm trying to throw back in their faces, why don't you treat that? You know, I wish they would treat that like this, you know, because they really did with Trump. Yeah.
0:46:24 Matt: Yeah, exactly. Right, right. Yeah, if that's what you're saying. Yeah, yeah,
0:46:28 Thomas: Fucking what's the difference.
0:46:28 Matt: That's, but I mean, like, you have to go that deeply into non reality. That's the only case is like not only focusing your opponents instead of focusing on policy but making up a guy to get mad at, which has been MAGA policy for a long time anyway, but. We do have Kansas cold. I don't know if you saw that.
0:46:33 Thomas: Yeah. Really?
0:46:45 Jenessa: Oh, shit.
0:46:46 Matt: Adam Hamilton. Yep. We are projected winner. Okay. Looking good.
0:46:46 Jenessa: Really? Oh, wow. New York times isn't calling it yet, but I, I, like I said, they're being very conservative tonight.
0:46:53 Thomas: Oh yeah, it looks over. I mean, New York Times has it at their greatest, greater than 95 so they have it it's I guess it's not officially a call but if they have it at that like it's
0:47:01 Jenessa: Yeah, yeah, they might as well. It's 88% of the vote in, and it's 53 to 44. You're not making up that gap.
0:47:05 Thomas: Yeah 4.9
0:47:10 Matt: When was the last. I was gonna say the last Democratic senator from Kansas was 1939. I just checked. So, there you go.
0:47:13 Thomas: Does I'm curious good wow we're
0:47:20 Matt: Different times.
0:47:19 Jenessa: Oh,
0:47:20 Thomas: We're not in Kansas anymore, but wow, crazy.
0:47:21 Matt: Don't know.
0:47:20 Jenessa: That's so awesome. Oh, Iowa, 56% of the vote in, it's 52 to 45, the likely Democrat, Iowa.
0:47:31 Thomas: Yeah, no, Iowa's solid. Kansas, Ohio, well, Oregon, obviously, Texas, Texas, T plus 10 in Texas right now.
0:47:37 Jenessa: Texas is still 60, oh, it
0:47:40 Thomas: 62, not, yeah, but it's, that one's, it's over, beast.
0:47:40 Jenessa: Just jumped from 62 to 66 right in front of my eyes. But it's gonna take forever.
0:47:45 Thomas: It's over, beast. Here we go.
0:47:48 Jenessa: Oh, Amy Acton for Ohio Governor called.
0:47:51 Matt: There we go. All right. You
0:47:52 Thomas: Ah. Ah. So good. This is so great. Fuck that guy.
0:47:54 Jenessa: Vivek Ramaswamy, no thank you, you're done. Oh, that's awesome,
0:47:59 Thomas: Fuck you God, jumping on the bandwagon, can't you see which way the wind was blowing? God, vote
0:48:00 Jenessa: For real.
0:48:07 Matt: Man, I can't believe they'd reward him after that if he marked up that Bible with his crayons. Yeah, sex genders, something like that, man.
0:48:12 Thomas: Well, this just in, officially God has no gender, or whatever it's uh, it's a mandate. Yeah, his actual quote was that God doesn't have a gender, writers yeah, but the made-up one.
0:48:21 Matt: That's right. Oh, that's right, no gender. But he also said there were sex genders,
0:48:25 Thomas: Oh, did he? Ours, I thought that was made up. Okay.
0:48:25 Matt: Allegedly him. He's a Christian who
0:48:29 Thomas: I don't
0:48:29 Matt: Hates Christianity, I don't know. It's all out of context, I'm sure, but even if it isn't, mean, it's not him saying it, so.
0:48:35 Thomas: Josh Fridstrom6974 says, "I love the thought of all the conservatives who moved from California to Texas to escape the woke are going to wake up in a blue state."
0:48:44 Thomas: Fuck you, Joe Rogan and all your fucking stupid fucking comedians. Ah, good times.
0:48:50 Matt: I just want to point out that what I haven't seen anybody even trying to claim that anything has been stolen yet. You know, obviously these numbers are out of control but I mean Trump did not say anything about them the true social yet.
0:48:51 Thomas: This is great. Yeah, good luck.
0:49:02 Matt: And I just point out that we've had two years of dimmers and I know that Justin, Justin, I both opinions about this, but I know we all do, but two years of dimmers and, about, you know, there's no point in terms of just going to steal the elections anyway.
0:49:01 Jenessa: That is interesting.
0:49:13 Matt: It's all going to be doomed. You know that she's going to run away, run away with it, and I'll send us out to steal the elections. And it's just, I just, again, I never went in for that. So maybe there'll be some legal challenges tomorrow, but the Alaska one was already thrown out immediately. Everything else they've tried is thrown out. The California thing was thrown out. The Supreme Court didn't even give the government a chance to argue against the California thing. It was amazing.
0:49:13 Thomas: Yeah
0:49:33 Matt: They just, they know, none of this is nonsense. Real judges, once again.
0:49:32 Jenessa: Yeah, that was great. Unsigned, no reasoning given,
0:49:38 Matt: Yeah, exactly. Because at the end of the day, we got limits. And again, once again, this election denialism going against real judges, against real systems, it does, there are not enough people, Well, there are not enough ICE agents, even with the massive expansion of ICE, to be able to rig any of this stuff, and these numbers matter, these votes matter. People coming out and actually doing this matters, and I just, I don't know, I just have to take a moment to just say that I just cannot, the people who have not been going outside very much, to keep saying that the election is going to be stolen, and that there's no point in trying to stop any of this. American fascism I'm not saying it's dead I'm not saying it's over.
0:49:38 Jenessa: Just no, we're not doing this.
0:50:07 Thomas: Yeah. No.
0:50:13 Matt: The migrant movement is definitely not doing well, it's on life support, and they're going to do whatever they're going to do for the next couple of years, trying to do executive orders, wedding ICE run rampant. It's obviously gonna be well funded. There's nothing we can do about that. But
0:50:23 Thomas: Yeah. Their ability to do harm, oh, sorry, Matt, let you finish,
0:50:26 Matt: No, but you're absolutely right. Whatever you have to say is correct. I'm sure.
0:50:30 Thomas: Well no, yeah, I think you've been brilliant on this and brought that to the show. Their ability to cause harm is not proportional to their competence, their popularity. You know, it's disproportionate. They are able to do a lot more harm and it makes them seem bigger than they are. You know, it has. And also, I don't know how much of this is a fucking psy-op or I don't wanna get too crazy, but like the people online spreading despair who pretend to be on the left, it's not, I don't know that they are. Who knows?
0:50:47 Matt: Yeah, yeah, I'm still there.
0:51:01 Matt: Yeah.
0:51:01 Thomas: Who knows if it's fucking AI these days? I don't know, because despair doesn't help. Despair doesn't help. And I've really appreciated you giving us a proper perspective. It's not, it's not about being too optimistic. It's not about to being too pessimistic. I just want to be the right amount of mystic, whatever, whatever That is. I want to be optimum mystic. No, I don't know. Uh, because I just want to know what's real. And there are people who I think get by with these little heuristics and in the in the in the era of Trump, it was, well, he's gonna do whatever he wants and get away with whatever he wants, and you know, that was a better heuristic than he's gonna be brought to justice. You know, if you if you thought the good guys were just gonna win, I suppose you probably were erring on the correct side there, but it's it's it's not detailed enough, it doesn't tell you enough. That's just another simple way to offload cognitive labor and not actually be doing any thinking, and I appreciate, yeah
0:51:05 Matt: Yeah. Yep, yep.
0:51:55 Matt: It's not informed enough, Right? And You have to understand the systems that you're talking about, and you know, I continue to say that like we still have so many good federal judges, and now with the Senate, we're going to continue to have good federal judges, that's the other big part of this, we're not going to, they're not going to get their judges through, and that's how we win, like if we can make sure, again, the one head led election, we just white knuckle it till the next couple of years, don't let any more judges through, because our judges, I mean, I'm not saying that judges are going to save us, but the federal judge, federal judiciary has done so much in the last couple of years, especially to stop the worst.
0:51:57 Thomas: Exactly.
0:52:26 Thomas: Yeah, I mean, having said, uh, Jenessa, if you've been wanting to jump in, I want to make sure you get a chance to jump in if you're
0:52:30 Jenessa: No, I'm staring at results and I have things I'll tell you after.
0:52:31 Thomas: Sure, sure. Having said that, the judiciary, I mean, there, there, it's, it's, yes, it's been, there've been highlights, obviously, Matt, but also I, I don't know if you'd agree, but there's been real damage done to that, and every fucking appointment is lifetime to the, to both the Supreme Court, federal judiciary, and there are a lot of people who are totally unqualified MAGA boobs who are just there, and we, that doesn't change, we can put a stop to it, but in order to really fix any of that, it would take another, this times ten, you know, we'd have to get, we'd have to get to where we can pack courts or, or impeach people who are genuinely unqualified. And I, we're a long way away from that. We're a long way away from that.
0:52:48 Matt: Okay. Yeah. Oh, sure, but I do want to send you a very encouraging chart because I do want to point out again, you know, his even before the midterms, his pace of appointments slowed down and he's going to be able to point them now. But there's a really, some really good numbers here just to talk about. Because, and I think I want to make sure we credit Jenessa as well because we do have such a great election expert here talking about how the system actually works and how you can't actually just completely have the federal government destroy an election.
0:53:17 Thomas: Um, yeah.
0:53:42 Thomas: You can't just push the steal button if you're Elon, yeah.
0:53:44 Matt: It doesn't work. Turns out, And there are limits, like, you can, it's actually okay to say that Trump can't actually steal a election like, it just can't.
0:53:52 Thomas: Someone said Greg Abbott just conceded, did we know that? Did we already know that on here?
0:53:56 Jenessa: Oh,
0:53:56 Matt: Throw me with a good time.
0:53:56 Jenessa: I did not know that. I was just looking at the Texas race.
0:53:57 Thomas: Wow. Get fucked, you fucko. This is nice. I want to go see the kids, but I also just want to look at this.
0:54:07 Thomas: I might have to sign out soon, but what a fun day. I'm just enjoying this.
0:54:09 Jenessa: Yeah.
0:54:14 Matt: Okay. I'm not going to bed until I know which gun it is. This. I mean, we have to know.
0:54:18 Jenessa: That's a good one. I'm never gonna get over that. I'm gonna go to bed thinking about that.
0:54:21 Thomas: Which gun it is that's also too much choice. I mean, are they gonna split the Remington vote, you know, is that gonna, what about the 30 Cal
0:54:31 Jenessa: What do they do if nobody gets a majority? Well, somebody will get a majority.
0:54:34 Matt: Oh, no. Looks like the New York Times has appears to have called it so far.
0:54:38 Thomas: The gun vote
0:54:38 Jenessa: I can't believe they're tracking it.
0:54:39 Thomas: No no
0:54:39 Matt: Yeah. Yep. They have to.
0:54:41 Thomas: Oh, I want this, yeah, where is this? Give me the, they have to, you're.
0:54:42 Matt: It's on the New York These times, it's under the Idaho page. Winchester, 1873, the gun that won the West. I think that giving it the gun that won the West title really set it over. 35%, it is the winner. With 9% of votes, they appear to have called it so far. Or maybe, I don't know if I'm reading this right, maybe they haven't called it, but they certainly have a lot of votes for the Winchester.
0:54:46 Thomas: Oh my God. They've called it. Oh, man. Oh, that is so good. Well, the mail-in vote is always Winchester, you know? The early vote is always Winchester, we know that. There's the Winchester Mirage, we've all heard of it.
0:55:12 Matt: Oh, only two counties are in, actually, so watch this face.
0:55:16 Jenessa: Oh my God.
0:55:17 Thomas: Yeah, those are fucking, those are Winchester counties, Matt.
0:55:19 Jenessa: Only two counties are in and they called it anyway? Why do they have such confident polling on the other counties?
0:55:22 Matt: I, well, I
0:55:23 Thomas: No, they didn't call it, Matt's full of shit.
0:55:25 Matt: Called it.
0:55:26 Thomas: Don't listen to him, Matt knows nothing about this.
0:55:26 Jenessa: Okay, okay.
0:55:28 Matt: I got very excited, okay, all right, you know. I'm looking at a page of numbers and getting nauseous.
0:55:33 Thomas: What, okay, I'm on Idaho election results. I'm trying I'm trying to find this is very important to me. Oh there. Okay. I didn't scroll down Oh ballot measures. Okay Okay, I see it
0:55:40 Matt: I mean, Ina County is Boise, so I mean, that's pretty much Idaho, right? Yeah.
0:55:44 Thomas: Wow show all answers. Okay. All right. This is important guys We've got this is this is this is where Republicans are doing the best tonight Okay, Winchester gun that that won the West. Yeah, that's that I mean Look, I don't know how it's gonna land County wise are there counties where it's like, yeah, they're all Remington Are there counties where they're all cult, know, there's there you go is the cult vote got split. You got two cult models, right?
0:55:55 Matt: Silence.
0:56:10 Thomas: Too well, you got two Winchesters too, but that's how good Winchester is. It's
0:56:09 Matt: And two
0:56:13 Jenessa: How did they come up with this list?
0:56:14 Thomas: Uh, Yeah, I don't know, is this not all the guns?
0:56:19 Jenessa: It's not.
0:56:21 Thomas: I thought this was just all of them.
0:56:21 Jenessa: I mean, I feel comforted there's not like an assault rifle on there. So like a machine gun.
0:56:25 Matt: That's a good tasting menu, of course. Yeah. The M1, what is the M1 doing on here? That's just a straight up military rifle.
0:56:33 Jenessa: Oh, okay. I take it back.
0:56:34 Thomas: Well, That one is the closest to
0:56:35 Matt: I know that one from video games.
0:56:36 Thomas: Yeah Okay, this is so funny. Trump says an interview that he will accept election results? Yeah, I mean, there's fucking, whatever. I don't think there was any, unless it was close, he's not, that's the other thing is Trump, he's lazy as shit, you know, like what's he gonna do, try to find a way to declare this stolen? Like what is, where, good luck, man. He's not, he's not able to do the homework required to declare this stolen.
0:56:49 Jenessa: He's not on the ballot. What would that mean? 43%
0:57:04 Thomas: Republican is currently, I don't know.
0:57:05 Jenessa: Of the vote in in Maine, Troy Jackson is down by three-tenths of a point, but New York Times is still estimating he's going to win with 3.6, uh, plus 3.6, 89% chance of winning.
0:57:12 Thomas: Wait what? Really? Oh, okay. Don't you fucking dare main. Don't
0:57:20 Jenessa: Sorry, I shouldn't have scared you. So, it's, it's going to be close.
0:57:20 Thomas: You dare. No, I've said I if the New York Times is or if the I'm not seeing enough commentary in the chat about this, the most important race, the gun race. No, you guys. It's like you guys don't know your priorities, like what's gonna happen? There's only 9% in, who's gonna win this? I don't Boy, people like old time, oh wait, hold on, big refresh. Oh, it just happened live, if you were watching the video. The Winchester 1894 gained a little, but not enough, know, we just got up to 10%, man.
0:57:34 Matt: Where are your guns?
0:57:46 Jenessa: Why? Why? I want to see the write-ins on this one oh wait you probably can't write in for a ballot
0:57:56 Thomas: Yeah. Here's the thing, it's it's candidate quality, you know, that's what's going on here, your your your M1, it's a gaff, it's gaff prone, the M1, I found, don't you think, Matt, it's it
0:58:09 Matt: Well, it's a very old gun. I mean, it's really... Well, then again, we're talking about 1873
0:58:11 Thomas: Well, look at the look at the one on top.
0:58:14 Matt: And 1894.
0:58:14 Thomas: Yeah, get let's just shit Together, Matt.
0:58:14 Matt: Yeah, that's true. But the M1 won the Korean War, I guess if you can say we won the Korean War. It did not win the West.
0:58:21 Thomas: Did we win the Korean War?
0:58:22 Matt: I don't think we did. So that's probably why the M1's not going to win.
0:58:23 Thomas: I wouldn't have said that we did, I don't know. I don't think we lost.
0:58:25 Matt: Yeah, not really.
0:58:29 Thomas: Linux Archer says the Garen famously gave people who used it bruised thumbs it was called Garen thumb you can see it on the sniper and saving private Ryan Well, no wonder it fucking lost god damn it. I backed the wrong horse on this one.
0:58:29 Matt: Oh, That can't be a winner.
0:58:36 Jenessa: A gun?
0:58:45 Thomas: Ah Man there goes my cal sheet money betting on the m1 Garand rifle.
0:58:49 Jenessa: Oh
0:58:49 Matt: Actually, Oh, that probably is on Calshe. Everything's on Galshe. Okay.
0:58:51 Thomas: Yeah, I bet it is See that's good clean fun. That's the only thing that should be on cal sheet get voting. Yeah, stupid dumb shit Dude, I don't think anyone could
0:58:58 Jenessa: My God. Only stupid ballot measures. We have to vote in advance on whether it's a stupid ballot measure.
0:59:03 Thomas: Yeah, you could have no, there's no insider info on this, and there's no manipulation, this is just a dumb thing.
0:59:10 Matt: Got to say Kelsey had it for 60% for the 1873 Winchester so once again the wisdom of the crowds. Yeah.
0:59:14 Thomas: There you go, those fuckers, wow.
0:59:17 Matt: Yeah. How do they do it?
0:59:18 Thomas: Wow, I don't know, that's crazy. Well, look, Matt, there's still a lot of results to come in, okay, you never know.
0:59:21 Jenessa: So dumb. How much is CALSI betting that CALSI will get shut down under this new administration?
0:59:30 Thomas: That's cool.
0:59:30 Jenessa: Somebody tell me what the hell's happening in Nebraska. So we've got Dan Osborn, the independent with 49% of the vote, Pete Ricketts, the Republican incumbent with 45% of the vote and Robin Richards party is other with 2% of the vote. Uh so is there not a Democrat even running or like who is the
0:59:41 Thomas: Pete Ricketts?
0:59:56 Thomas: Oh. Oh. Is that the one where the guy ran is, like, an independent? To What was that one? Sorry. What?
1:00:02 Jenessa: Is it like just a branding issue
1:00:04 Thomas: I think so, am I remembering? There's something in my brain about this, were you talking senator? Yeah. There's something about that.
1:00:11 Jenessa: Yeah Nebraska Senate it. We have an independent, a Republican, and an other. I didn't even know that was, because normally if you're some, like, green, libertarian, whatever, you, like, that label shows up. Independent is, I don't have a party, right? You know, there was a thing in New York, but he is, like, liberal.
1:00:26 Thomas: Yeah. Independent. Oh, you're saying yeah yeah, he Dan Osborne I, yeah, he ran as, as an independent. I think so.
1:00:36 Jenessa: Well, they currently have this at very likely Republican, even though the Republican is currently down by four.
1:00:37 Thomas: Yeah, what does anyone know? Oh, really?
1:00:46 Jenessa: Yeah, only 54% of the vote is in, so they, for some reason, they're very confident he'll make up the 4% and then some.
1:00:46 Thomas: Huh? Oh, yeah, you're right. They have. Okay. It's pretty crazy, though. Hmm. Yeah, that's a pretty crazy swing to be up by 4% with 54% of the vote in but be projected to lose by 11? That's crazy.
1:01:02 Jenessa: Unless, like, only the cities have reported.
1:01:03 Thomas: Wow. Guys, this is very likely Rickets, everybody. Look, it's very likely Rickets. Oh, man.
1:01:16 Matt: But how many years late do you have left to live?
1:01:16 Jenessa: What's the drink more orange juice? No. What's the...
1:01:19 Thomas: Yeah, is that that one? I don't know what Rickets is, but It's very, I got bad news.
1:01:22 Matt: Yeah.
1:01:22 Jenessa: Vitamin A, Vitamin C.
1:01:24 Matt: Yeah, it sounds bad.
1:01:24 Thomas: It's very likely. Oh man.
1:01:28 Matt: Oh, well, I, I just have to mention that 76% no on repealing marijuana legalization in Massachusetts so that's about right.
1:01:29 Thomas: All right. I gotta go. What? Sorry. Nice.
1:01:38 Matt: That's about right. I did my part.
1:01:37 Jenessa: Okay, that's, yeah, solid win, yeah.
1:01:41 Thomas: Well, this was so nice. Any final last thoughts? I gotta, I gotta go see my kids. This has been so nice though. I love it.
1:01:48 Matt: Just so many things that would have been incredible news, any other election that are all happening at once that we're just gonna keep talking about.
1:01:54 Jenessa: These governors are going to be a big deal. It's easy to forget how important that is, even if probably, especially in your day-to-day life. But getting control over boards of elections to make sure election deniers aren't in these positions. These are often appointed positions. It really matters that we're going to have so many more blue governors. Oh, speaking of which, I just called the Wisconsin governor's For the Democrat
1:01:57 Matt: Yeah.
1:02:00 Thomas: They matter probably more in a way, in some ways.
1:02:21 Thomas: Yeah. Nice. And, uh, yeah, that's a man. You got your final words in there and thanks, everybody. Hey, go ahead.
1:02:29 Matt: We're gonna say big sweep actually in Montana Supreme Court election we got the the more liberal candidate is 62% now. So, yeah, that was that was gonna be like a swing It was almost, yeah, so anyway, good stuff in the springboard.
1:02:33 Jenessa: Nice ooh in Montana Very
1:02:40 Thomas: Fantastic. Thanks. Thanks to all of you for being here with us. So really Appreciate it. So it's been a long time since we got to have a nice thing and just everybody enjoy each other's company and enjoy this win. And wow, there's gonna, yeah, don't worry everybody who's sad in the chat. I'm also sad that we are parting right now because it could just stare at this all night and talk to you guys. But very likely, Ricketts.
1:02:42 Matt: Yeah.
1:03:06 Thomas: There'll be so much, there'll be so much more to talk about in terms of this election. We're going to be, we're going to be talking about how much we fucking won for a while. Oh, thank you all. This has been so nice. Thanks, Matt. Thanks, Jenessa. And we'll talk real soon.
1:02:40 Jenessa: Nice Yeah. Ha ha ha.
1:03:19 Matt: And may the best Winchester win.
